You’ll see from my reviews that I’ve been to a lot of pubs. A lot of Derby pubs too. This is not a nice pub. Even from walking into the bar I felt it was ‘odd’. The bar guy gave off hostile vibes. Once we sat down the pints were bad but since we felt the bar guy wasn’t friendly we decided to cut our losses and move on. Just before leaving some ‘lads’ decided to have a bit of ‘banter’ with us. Was really looking for a wine bar. Googled wine bars in Derby, and Vines came up in the top 5 options. It's not a wine bar. I'm sure it is a very nice bar/pub, but by their own admission, the name is very deceiving. Having asked for a wine list, the very polite and welcoming guy behind the bar laughed and said they have 2 wines, red and white
Came here for an event our friend was dj-ing at... and it was brilliant! Tunes, after tunes after tunes... if you get chance you gotta check it out! We're from Wolves so the mission to get to Derby was already a bit like... what is this bar gonna be like?! However, surpassed our expectations and we had a brilliant night! Not sure what it's like on a standard Saturday but this event was sick! They have to sort those toilets out though... pretty grim...
Once saw one of their door staff needlessly assault a woman and push her to the hard cobble floor out front ,which could have ended in a serious injury or loss of life ..all because she walked out with a drink in a plastic cup, luckily some guy saw what had happened and smashed the doormans teeth all over the place. The other doormen then proceeded to try and assault the random hero but he made an escape . Strongly advise to give this place a wide birth.

Walked in to get a drink after watching the England rugby game and got turned away as we were wearing England shirts, apparently it’s not allowed as it’s club wear ? Fat cat it was instead.Service: 1/5
Normally go in here when visiting Derby but this time it was busy and 1 person serving. Waited 5 minutes walked out. Need more bar staff.Service: 4/5
