Superb. Great decor, chill environment, real ale, half decent prices for the centre, great garden, lovely barman that served me. Fully recommend. Gay friendly, if that's even relevant. Just a great bar in the city centre.
Great vegan hotdog! Nice atmosphere with good people. You don’t have to be a Vegan or anything else to enjoy your food and drinks.
Had a really nice night celebrating my friend's birthday here. It wasn't too rammed for a Saturday night which was nice. Friendly crowd and bar staff and a nice selection of drinks. Cheap soft drinks as well which is a really refreshing change as someone who mostly doesn't drink alcohol. I nearly fainted when they said £1 for my pint of lime and soda
This pub used to have a great food menu but now it serves vegan dishes only. Still a great pub that welcomes a mixed crowd with friendly service. The place is always clean and presentable and I enjoy the easy chairs and sofas for relaxing.
Always pop in this pub when in the area. Known the pub on and off for forty years. Always a friendly welcome, and staff never grumpy. Can't speak highly about the pub.keep up the good work x
Nice friendly pub. They do food after 5pm. Garden out the back. Travelled to meet up with daughter so parked at Cabot circus.
Lovely place. Very friendly atmosphere with a good crowd of people. Beer is very reasonable for Bristol and feels like a proper pub inside. A range of board games are available to use. We enjoyed a long but incomplete game of monopoly over several drinks.

This is a little gem of a pub In the old market area, nice enough inside with lovely staff and food, but even better when it's ok or nice outside as the pub garden is a great place to socialize while enjoying some good drink/food from the bar vegan burger comes recommended too!
Hands down the most disgustingly bad service me and my friends have ever received in a bar/pub. We attended the old market tavern at 9pm for a quiet game of scrabble in the back room until their close at 11:30pm They closed at 11:10pm. The manager dark short hair and paper clip eyebrow piercing gave us quite literally one minutes notice told us to leave, we packed our bags within 5 minutes notice and they turned out the lights in our room as we were packing. We scrambled together whatever we could see with the torches on our iphones. When asking for plastic cups for our drinks to leave so they could effectively shut down the manager said "no that's illegal" working as regular bar staff for events this seemed off. She then grabbed our drinks and poured them out before we could take another sip. Giving the cost of pints and their £5 minimum card spend it was pretty unpleasant having my 3/4 pint washed away without my consent before i could have a final sip. I work in health and social care so an evening pint is not something I pay for lightly on my wages. The on shift employee not the manager apologised for the managers disgusting behaviour towards us and notified that she/they had been drinking all night. She was drinking pints in front of us whilst pouring our pints away. Upon leaving, the manager slammed the door and locked it behind us instantly in the most rude manor. She was obscene in her manor and I have honestly never experienced a bar staff experience like it especially whilst having a couple of pints playing scrabble on a thursday night. I can honestly say I will never be coming back. If I attempted one of these backwards practices towards customers during a shift I would expect to be fired by the next day.
