Ockenden Manor is a charming and tranquil Elizabethan Manor House tucked away in Cuckfield, one of the prettiest Tudor villages in England. With its history and character, elegant sitting room warmed by a roaring log fire and cosy, wood panelled bar, it's a wonderful place to escape to and yet it is just an hour from London and 20 minutes drive from Gatwick.

The hotel is set in nine acres of peaceful gardens and parkland with views across the West Sussex countryside to the South Downs and some of the great gardens and stately homes of Sussex and Kent are within easy reach.

One night spa break on a Thursday night. Chose the cosy room option and we got Thomas above the entrance to the hotel. Lovely room, great bed and the benefit of a separate lounge on opposite side. Not good if you can't get up stairs well though. Spa was great, especially the outdoor pool section. Some think the pool too cold, but think a matter of taste. Breakfast was tasty.

Nice upmarket spa in the countrtside. Indoor and outdoor pool and hot tubs. Modern feel in the spa, traditional old English feel in tge manor house. Cleanliness could have been better however an enjoyable day overall.

Really sorry but I found ockenden manor service to be stuffy, too upright and downright old fashioned. It was awkward. Luxury should be restful and at least in this century. Please consider your service style as I think it does you no favours. The food was lovely though, so I can't fault that. I also felt your young serving staff were beautifully trained, but I feel it is a shame they are trained to not let their personalities shine through.

Cosy country style hotel with an excellent spa. Dinner was truly excellent, the food superb.
