Oak Furniture Land

The staff follow you round, it's really weird. Nice that they say hi when you come in, but when you get to the back of the store and they're watching from 10 paces away, it's awkward. Then when you go upstairs and there's the same person, staring at you, it's really creepy! It's just not worth the ordeal, the furniture is only ok - solid, but pretty poorly thought through.

I was only in this store for around 5 seconds before having my ear drums assaulted by a sales person who would not leave me alone. Even after saying 'i just want to look I don't need any help' I was followed round and round the store. Eventually I caved and decided to purchase the item id come to look at. It was advertised as free delivery... which was true, however according to the lady it could come at any day or any time. Useless for the average person who has a job. Of course I was informed that for additional 30 pounds I could choose a delivery time. After emphasising my surprise at this I was then politely informed that 'that was nothing' to pay for a delivery. Fast forward to the delivery which had been agreed to be to the store for the 'free delivery' I was bombarded with phone calls and messages to ascertain when I would be in. Strange as it was meant to be to store. The delivery driver could not find the address provided to him by his own company, and could now only deliver my table to an industrial estate somewhere as this was the postcode given. Numerous phone calls later my table was delivered to the store. Of course I brought all this up when going to store to collect it. As it turned out the delivery was mis sold, there was no problem picking a day or a time and the person who had sold it to me was well known for making these errors. So much so the manager didn't care and simply rolled his eyes and said he was aware of such problems then stared at me blankly. Table is nice but should have gone to Argos. Disorganised, over bearing and rude. Avoid.

Experience first-hand, golden oldie cliches such as: “There’s a sale, so the prices will never be lower than this!” “It’s a weekend so whilst you decide, I’d better go and check the system to make sure there’s still stock” “Once stock is gone, it’s gone” Your sales rep, sorry, new friend, will even perform a personalised, Oscar-worthy emotional performance for you if you say the magic word “online”... they will flawlessly shift from playing the role of friend, to aggrieved acquaintance, to emotionally begging for their job to be saved from the impending doom of an automated world* Bravo, Oak Furniture Land, Bravo! * If this was a genuine cry for help from the sales rep, and OFL really don’t have any protections in place for their in-store staff vs. their own website, I implore OFL to address this, and for the sales rep to explore wider options.

They jump on you the second you walk through the door. After you rid yourself of one another sales vulture will approach you further into the store.
