It’s a good store overall. Two floors and free parking doesn’t always have the best stock however, especially for the more premium items. Lots of out of fashion and seasonal left overs, feels like thrifting to try and find anything good.
Today I was shocked and disgusted with attitude of manager. We did some shopping and went to pay to the till. We wanted to pay cash and had Scottish note to pay. Cashier asked the manager to check the notes which was fair enough. However, we were asked by manager why we had Scottish note!nThey are legal tender in the UK! She went through them and told us some of the notes they didn’t look good as security strip isn’t going all the way down which was laughable. Do you have a pen to check it? Yes but it doesn’t work on this notesnnAnyway she made us to pay by credit card which we weren’t happy to do it. Manager was a nervous person and doesn’t know how to deal with cash and it is retailer duty to check notes and not to refuse them. It works same with English note but it would have been treated differently for sure.
I visited the store to have a browse, to see if I could find any items that I needed. Entering the store staff members were following me around and watching my every step. I felt extremely uncomfortable so I left and went elsewhere to get the items I wanted. To make a customer feel so uncomfortable is not something that will encourage people to buy items from the shop. I will not recommend this store to anyone.
Very good for coffee beans 1kilo bags for under a tenner and it's Italian bet that's surprised a lot of people get on down you coffee lovers
Our favourite place for shopping in town.nLarge two stories shop, upper level just for Homsense store, loads of treasure to find.
