What an awesome yet intimate venue! Great for those of us with 02 to get to the front of the stage. Plenty of space for the performers merch and unreal sound! Thanks to Ryan Mack and Robert Grace tonight! Absolutely killed it!
What a great night we had at the 02 Islington watching Y&T. Myself and my daughter in law have accessibility issues so where ushered by a member of the team through the venue to the side of the stage where we were seated. The view was great as was the sound and we even had access to the end of the bar to get our drinks. If we needed the toilet a member of the team would again take us through the venue and then return us to our seats without having to go through the crowds. The team were great and can't thank them enough. T Morter
OK venue. Expensive beer. Venue has cloakroom but strict "no bags" policy, and that includes the cloakroom. Easy access to Angel and only 15 minute walk to King's Cross.
Helpful staff. Unfortunately, they had advertised the concert to begin an hour before it did, so I lost my place in line when I went back to queue. They're really strict to check bags, so it's ideal to carry one small bag with minimal items. The waiting time was a bit long, and I kept getting pushed into by uncaring people who can't say excuse me typical London and people nowadays. So prepare yourself with cat-like self defense reflexes. A few security staff members seemed to not be able to facilitate crowd control and communicate well. I had booked a seat for myself inside the venue due to physical disability and inability to stand. Remember this is a standing only venue. They had arranged the seat nicely, with a few other people. I got a nice view of the band I went to see, sound system was good - very loud, so bring noise reduction earplugs. It's difficult to take photos and videos, but I managed one photo and a few videos. Exiting the venue was easy, as it's a small place. In future, I would suggest that O2 academy advertise how long the concerts will last for, as it's helpful for people to plan. I didn't need the bar or the toilets, so can't review. They have a few tables and sofas away from the stage for people, which I only saw on the way out and it's not necessarily advertised on the website. I personally won't be going again, just because I'm very sensitive to crowds and the venue is too small for my comfort. The staff were really good and any questions and emails I sent were responded to nicely and with professionalism.
Small venue perfect for live music. We saw Definitely Mightbe, Oasis tribute. About 100 people. Intimate and great music. Drinks a bit expensive.
Cracking night out and one of the best things about the venue is the height of the stage, meaning everyone gets a great view. One gripe, though, the new policy of no bags is a nuisance for those that have to bring a bag with them, perhaps if coming straight from work for instance.
Visited for Plini gig in July 2024. Won't rate the gig as this is about the venue, but it was awesome! I'll try to answer all the questions I had before but couldn't find answers to easily. First, its located inside a nice shopping centre and there are plenty places to grab food, like Pret and Itsu. Its also got toilets right across from the entrance. We took the train and it was super easy to get to. The venue itself is fully standing. There's a vast main room, probably about 500 capacity and a Balcony upstairs. The balcony we used has it's own bar area and there's comfy seats and sofas arranged around the walls. You won't be able to use them when the band comes on though, unless you want just to listen. That said, we stiid at the balcony barrier and had an amazing view down onto the stage below. There were probably another 50 or so of us upstairs and when we arrived at 6.30pm to queue, we were still able to get upstairs easily. The security staff on duty were thorough but really nice and pleasant and they were being strict on bag checks e.g. no rucksacks. But there were places to leave bags Sound was great and the gig was brilliant.
Really cool music venue with both upstairs and downstairs areas to watch the bands. Get there early to get a good viewing spot upstairs.
The staff were amazing! I had to sort out a carer ticket and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, they kept me updated on any changes to the times of the event and answered all my questions. If you have a disability don't worry as you will be tasked good care of!
Went last November to a Christopher concert … it was simply fantastic . Queue went smoothly, good venue . Not to big ! Just perfect for a smaller concert ! Perfect acoustic
