I was a bit scared when I walked up outside that it wasn't going to be a nice place but when I walked in, my mind was put at ease. The lobby & reception was cute, clean and welcoming. The place has a warmness and smells really nice! The superior room was lovely, the only problem was the bath I ran was only luke warm. Clean, room & bathroom, rituals products. The breakfast buffet was lovely with plenty to choose from. Any staff I met or spoke to were so nice. Great location for what we needed.
Went here for afternoon tea i was impressed by the lovely dinning area. Also the area where we had the afternoon tea was impressive lovely decor. The male staff are very welcoming and give excellent service. Asking if had any allergies what we would drink everything was excellent from beginning to end. One of the best afternoon tea we have every had too. Looking forward to going again. Thank you.
Really nice and clean place to stay. The staff were really professional and nice and they even upgraded us to the higher room to stay next to our friends for free. They also let us park after the end of our stay to go to town center for a walk. Highly recommend this hotel
Very poor experience as a business traveller at this hotel. They gave me a family room on check-in with 3 beds giving me no access to the desk, so I had to go back down to Reception and get the room changed. I was then given another room where the desk light didn't work, the bedside table had grease marks and coffee stains on it see photo and there were various bits of litter on the carpet. I was too tired to get room changed yet again so I cleaned the table myself but I did complain to the front desk about the broken light. I was told someone would come and take a look at the broken light - no-one did. The ropey looking hairdryer in my room was also missing the guard on the back so my hair got caught in it and burnt whilst drying. This is actually very dangerous. On the plus side I ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel and I have to say both of these meals were very good, as was the service in the bar and restaurant at both times. However the room and indeed the hotel in general is very tired decorwise and in need of an overhaul - too much beige everywhere! I come to Birmingham regularly on business but I very much doubt I will stay here again.
Great location for all nightlife that Birmingham has to offer. Great service in the hotel and breakfast was superb. Room and bed comfortable. Warning though…. Very noisy on the road outside until probably 4am. Constant horns. Nature of the neighbourhood. Not hotels fault. Bring some earplugs!
I had the pleasure of experiencing Marina's hospitality at Novotel, and I can't say enough good things about her! From the moment I arrived. She goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels valued and cared for. Marina's attention to detail and genuine passion for her work truly set her apart. If you're looking for a memorable stay, Marina is the person to thank for making it exceptional! Highly recommend her service!
This hotel is perfectly placed on Broad Street in Birmingham. It's secure and has friendly staff. However, I didn't have the comfiest stay. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets/pillows cheap so I did not have a good nights sleep. Thought it was surprising quality for a 4* hotel. The bedside lamps did not work neither did the hairdryer, and the sockets in the room kept losing power. I wondered if it was just my phone charger, but it has worked since and the phone in the room kept turning on and off as it lost and then gained power. I stayed in another hotel at a third of the price and one less star a week before which was much better!
The staff, especially Marina, were incredibly attentive and provided great service. The rooms were big and clean but the bathroom layout is strange - the toilet is in a separate room to the sink and shower over the bath. There is a small gym, but most disappointingly the sauna and steam room which are great by the way were only open between 7-10pm. A bit stingy if you ask me, and not convenient timing because I wanted to do other things at that time! The food was generally pretty good, some misses but most of the time I enjoyed it. There were limited dairy free options available, I would've liked to not have to ask every time at the buffet for separate food. When I got into my room there was a bulb out, and then another one went out the next day - I reported this to reception and this was fixed immediately, but perhaps the first one could've been fixed before I arrived.
We stayed in room 421. The toilet and the shower, sink and bath were separate. If you enter the shower, do not look at the bottom right corner at the door of shower, you find something that looks much rather like bird poop. We had a sofa bed, comfortable, and we ordered YO Sushi for dinner. Very noisy throughout the night.Rooms: 3/5
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Stayed here for a week for a conference. Very nice rooms with comfortable beds. The food is excellent. Lots of variety, and very friendly and hard working staff. And the location is ideal. Would definitely recommend.Rooms: 5/5
