Location was just what we required. And was ideal staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really great. Very good choice an d make your own waffles . I would say rooms could do with a little update as carpet was looking a little worn in places. Overall great stayRooms: 4/5
I stayed one Friday night at the hotel when I attended a conference nearby. I found it an easy walk from Birmingham New Street Station, but there are also regular trams. The road the hotel is on has many bars nearby, and Friday evening was very lively, but felt well-regulated and safe. The hotel itself has helpful staff who were available whenever I needed assistance. I had no noise issues apart from a random fire alarm that can happen anywhere. My room was clean and had comfortable twin beds with all the facilities you'd expect. A colleague staying at the same time was disappointed that they had torn net curtain, and I had a missing bathroom door fitting. Both minor issues. I had breakfast and found there was a good selection of food available. The restaurant area was large, clean, and well-lit. To call the hotel 'functional' would be doing it a disservice. The room was nice and the provision of 2 small bottles of water and a packet of Maltesers was a nice touch. Nearby activities: I had little free time, but got the impression that there is plenty to do in Birmingham. A colleague visited a Pre-Raphaelite exhibition and there seemed to be a good range of cultural activities as well as the aforementioned bars! Overall, my impression of Birmingham was more favourable than I expected!
Great location, close to bullring and other entertainment. Loads of eateries and watering holes nearby. Rooms were lovely, very clean and quiet. Bed was very comfortable, so a good night's sleep was thoroughly enjoyed. Only 2 issues were the phone in the room not being clear had to use connecting room's phone to call reception and was disappointed there was no room service, food would have to be collected from reception might seem lazy on our behalf, but when you want an "escape from the kids" night and treats you don't really want to be riding elevators with food!
Unless your staying on the 15th floor don't bother....the hotel is located between what sounds like two hardcore techno clubs that literally vibrate your windows and floors all night. As the main purpose of a hotel is to provide a place to rest and sleep, the Hampton by Hilton Broad Street should not be classed as a hotel! Apparently guests are warned about this at check in....I wasn't. How the hell can you run a hotel that actually has to warn you that you probably won't sleep during your stay due to unacceptable levels of noise! An absolute hole....stay somewhere else, please!
Great hotel, smack in the middle of Broad St. Rooms are lovely, beds comfortable, but pillows were too flat for me, had to ask for another one. They looked puffy, but you sunk right into them and because I like a firmer pillow, two wasn't enough. Shower was ample size and air con is good. Breakfast is very good and plentiful. The only issue I have, is Broad St can get very busy in the nights and as we we there Friday and Saturday, I assume it's the busiest nights. There's quite a few beggars and unsavoury characters about, but Police presence and Security deal with anything quickly. You'd expect it in city's, it's like it in most busy places with clubs. But overall it's a great hotel and reasonably priced. I just wouldn't take kids there on a weekend, unless you're back by 9pm. Also ask for high rooms if you're a light sleeper.
Great city centre stay...onsite parking for £15 a say, great value. Room is comfortable and staff are friendly. The bar is open till 3am. Refreshments are available 24x7 but you have to collect from Reception.Rooms: 4/5
Noise from the club next door - I’d avoid this place. If you are on any kind of floor below about floor 12 you will be subject to noise from the club next door all night… and given that sleeping is the primary reason for having a hotel it makes this place pretty useless. I wish I’d read the other reviews about this issue before I booked. Location is central sure, staff are reasonable, but I mean it’s hard to look past the noise issue. Pretty fundamental. Very disappointed
The Haptom Hotel is conveniently located in the town center, within walking distance of the canal and the main restaurants and bars. I chose this hotel for a conference, and it was a great decision as it was only five minutes from the event venue. The room was spacious and comfortable, although I did notice some dust, and the shower could have used a bit more attention. Unfortunately, I discovered at 11 PM that my room was situated above a nightclub, which was less than ideal, especially with a presentation to prepare for the next day. When I called the receptionist to express my concern about the noise, she simply stated that there was music because of the nightclub and confirmed that no other rooms were available. I found her response to be lacking, particularly since I expected a quieter environment for my stay. However, after discussing the issue with the manager, he promptly arranged for me to move to a different room. The downside was that I had to go downstairs to collect the new room keys and handle the luggage myself. The second room was an improvement, but the fan was excessively loud, even when turned off. I brought this to the attention of a different receptionist, who was very apologetic and quickly contacted maintenance. Unfortunately, they couldn't resolve the issue and offered to change my room once more. At this point, I was quite exhausted and frustrated with the situation. The hotel management should definitely focus on improving the performance of the night shift staff. While I understand that they may be tired, it's essential for them to provide accurate information and address customer complaints more effectively. Given my experience, I would hesitate to stay at the Haptom Hotel again.
What a great place to stay. Wish you could lock the bathroom doors through. Apparently you can't though. Breakfast is decent. Had my money's worth. Me and the wife always stay here. Thank you Hampton. definitely coming back.Rooms: 5/5
I stayed at Hampton by Hilton in Birmingham for one night with my family, including our 1-year-old. Check-in took almost 20-30 minutes as they were doing it manually on paper, which was frustrating since we arrived at 11 pm with a sleepy toddler. The limited parking made it challenging to manage our luggage, stroller, and child. The room was okay, but the sofa bed was uncomfortable—I could feel the springs. Breakfast was a bit bland, not up to the usual Hilton standard I’m used to. On the plus side, it’s good value for money, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
