Attended A&E yesterday lunch time with severe pain below my ribs. After booking in I only had to wait approx 10 mins before I was seen by the Triage nurse.I was then seen by a doctor, had a chest X Ray and a heart trace to rule out any blood clot.I was discharged home following the advice of the doctor. Very swift and efficient. All staff were kind , attentive and very professional. The whole visit was completed in less than 2.5 hours.
The usual waiting times because of staffing and circumstances. Could NOT fault the staff as they did their jobs to the best of their abilities, even faced with a very difficult and demanding couple, who thought they should be able to queue jump. Not sure they realised that everyone else there was not just sat there for the fun of it. The hospital is very clean, well equipped. Our only gripe is the lack of comfortable seating, much needed when waiting for 6 hours.
I have been a frequent attender at NSEC A&E over the past couple of weeks due to nightly heart issues. I also spent a couple of nights on ward 10 during this time. I just wanted to send a HUGE thank you to all of the staff who have done everything they could to try and help me manage my condition. When you are feeling unwell, scared, and vulnerable every interaction, no matter how big or small, can make a difference. I am very grateful for everything that you’ve done. You are all amazing !!
I was admitted to Cramlington Hospital after sustaining a head injury. I was given a CT scan of my head and it was found that I had had a small bleed on the brain. I remained in hospital for observation but didn't require any treatment. I must praise the dedication of all the staff on Ward 9. They were patient and pleasant even when they were busy and made me feel that I mattered. Thank you.
Seems they don’t know the meaning of emergency. Waited more than 5 hours to see the doctor for my 1 year old baby and finally had to go to a different hospital at 2.00am midnight. The priority is for their private patient, they don’t care about for the nhs patients. They should learn the value of time. Simply asking patients to wait for many many hours and sending the private patients immediately is not fair. My personal loan processed in a minute and the money credited in my account within a minute, while people are waiting more than 5 hour to see a doctor for emergency. What a development for the country!!!
Excellent compassionate care delivered in a clean, modern and calm setting. In a real emergency, this is the only place to go. Three hot meals a day, private bathrooms and good clean rooms along with superb specialist staff make it a shining beacon amongst hospitals in the North East. Thank you lifesavers!
My husband was treated in A&E Tuesday 17th February after a sudden collapse. Absolutely fantastic from start to finish! A&E fabulous and fantastic from check in to Doctor! On Cardiac ward in about 3 hours! He is fine thanks to the superb NHS xxx
Waited alone for 8 hours in a wheelchair with chronic internal pain & sickness. As I had an arm in plaster, I was unable to help myself. I had to ask another patient to get me a drink of water. When i told the passing doctor I thought I was going to pass out/faint & could I lie down, her response was 'you're sitting down you'll be ok'. I'm 73 & was feeling really unwell. I had an Xray where nothing showed so was given ant-sickness tablets & advised to take painkillers. Is this what I paid my National Insurance for? I've since seen my doctor who is organising a scan for me. Don't ever want to go there again. Second rate service compared to RVI. I did ask ambulance to take me there. Practically same distance from house, but they refused. So much for the Patients Charter & right of choice!!
I came into Cramlington hospital, A & E department last night, with breathing problems. All the staff were very kind & supportive. I personally was treated with the upmost care & kindness. Thank you to all the nurses, doctors & reception staff in A & E last night.
This has nothing to do with the medical side of thing's and I really do respect what yous do for us all. Thank you. The previous day I had made appointment ward15 for between 1 and 2pm on 25th jan 2023. To see visit my cousin with nightwear etc as she had none. Upon arrival at ward 15. I thought it would be best to clean my hands and put PPE on. After cleaning hands in sink in passage I was getting some dirty looks from one of the nurses in a blue uniform slouching on chair from a distance about 15meters away. She was talking to a lady who was wearing black she was from behind the desk. The lady in black approached me and asked what I was there for. I replied to visit my cousin for whom I had visited the day earlier and she needs new pyjamas nightgown knickers etc dropped in. The woman said no you can’t I said excuse me she said you can come back at two o’clock I replied i booked visit yesterday for today between 1to2pm today to drop of new nightwear etc in for her. I said have spinal cord damage /compression of the spinal cord. And waiting is out of the question unless they have a bed for me to lie on. With my spinal condition I can not sit or stand for more than a few minutes? I struggle but strive to do what I can on a daily basis. So I said if I wait or hang about I will suffer with chronic pain severe pain. And last night I was in extremely severe pain because I visited that ward my cousin the previous day and there was no where for me to lie down. so I had to leave after 10 to 15 minutes Because I was in extreme severe pain during visit yesterday. And also told the lady in black that I would only be visiting for 5 minutes drop nighty in as I did not want a repeat episode of the pain I suffered after yesterday’s visit and the pain i suffered throughout last night. She replied and repeated 2oclock. She then turned her back on me completely ignore me my pleas and disabilities ignoring me and being rude because turning her back on me is rude. So my voice was raised she said ?. And she said I was being rude ? If she had not of been refused my visit which was booked a day in advance and she had listened to my pleas about my disabilities and the discomfort I suffer extreme/severe pain etc and hadn’t of turned her back on me I wouldn’t have raised my voice. Ps I know I shouldn’t have raised my voice I truly wasn’t aware that I had raised my voice even if I did ? until she told me. And I am deeply sorry if I did ? Or was she using that phrase to get me to shut up. We’ll look at this I have written it down for all to see how yous treated me. How dare she ignore my pleas and then turn it around and say I was being rude to her ? also she was being a bully probably because she wanted to go sit back down and carry on the conversation that I disrupted upon my arrival to the ward when I rang bell on door and they let me in. I left my cousins bag with her mighty sanitary etc on floor in ward 15 as I also can not carry things and I told her this also. Ps Not that this has anything to do with it. But this gives an insight into the person I am and respect them and the job they do. The previous day upon my 1st visit to see my cousin I took them three boxes of chocolates because of the stresses and and work they do as a thank you to them. It was treated absolutely disgustingly So do not expect to be greeted in decent manner???.
