Normally I have been satisfied with Northcote, but today I have spent a few hours on hold. I phoned this morning to ask to speak to a doctor. The receptionist said one would call me later in the morning. I kept my phone right beside me but it didn't ring and I discovered I had a voice message. Tried to call back immediately, but had to go through the whole rigmarole again and was told someone would be in touch. This time I saw the voice message and tried to ring back immediately. Of course I had to listen to the announcements and was told I was 8th in the queue. When I got to first place the call shut down! After a second round of being 8th in the queue I did hear someone, but again the call closed. I still haven't got through to anyone and my phone has not rung. Has anyone else had a similar experience? So frustrated!
Wonderful, attentive and welcoming staff, clean and overall lovely practice. I have been registered here for over 20 years and like that it doesn't feel like your average doctors surgery.
Very much depends on the GP you see. In general have found them quite dismissive and unable to provide any answers on child’s issues post surgery. Took 5 visits before we were referred to the hospital.
2nd time now they have messed my mothers medicine box up just by luck I have noticed this each time changing blood pressure tablets cause her ankles have swollen up put new tablet into box but still Keeping the old one in it aswell my mother suffers from Alzheimer’s And is lucky we deal with everything for her but what about people that don’t have people to watch out for these things when I complained they said oh she would get abit light headed if she took them both oh ok light headed for someone with Alzheimer’s could end up with a fall and maybe a broken bone but that’s ok then doctors calls and say just as well as u noticed so no harm done Yes their is cause I’ve had to run up and down to chemists To return the boxes to get changed and get new boxes. A complete shambles cause the doctors forgot to tell the staff to let the chemist know to remove it !!!
I am very happy and grateful to my surgery. Despite the difficulties with volume and resources the admin staff has always done their best to be helpful. I have only interacted with Dr. Maxwell and he has always been thoughtful and all together fantastic during really difficult health episodes.
As a patient at Northcote for the last 4 years, I only have good things to say about this practice. The doctors are incredibly nice and I have always felt that they have been delivering a high standard of care to me. Since the pandemic, the phone consultations have been really useful, so credit to the staff who are making the appointments and to the doctors who have always been upbeat, excellent listeners, and solution-orientated on the phone call appointments with me 2 of them. Prescriptions were quickly arranged with my local pharmacy. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice, hence why I am leaving this review.
I have been with Northcoate since around 2001 and I have always found it an extremely well managed practice. Even through the pandemic and with the current state of the NHS I always get an appointment be that telephone which suits sometimes or in person. I recently called in with an issue had a telephone triage at 2.30pm and then a face to face at 4pm. Great service lovely team!
I have been a patient of this surgery for over 20 years. I have to say I have never had to complain , in fact the past few years they have been absolutely fantastic Dr's ,nurses, and office staff, considering we had a pandemic, getting prescriptions is no problem, and i even got a few 'essential' appointments during covid , I would say the wait for an appointment is a bit long , even just for test results, but on occasions I have been seen or spoke to within half an hour or the next few days. One Dr in particular is amazing Dr Vaidya , she actually listens to you and does everything she can to get to the root of a problem, i am so grateful for all that she has done for me over the years . Great practice .
My doctors for over 25 years , have zero complaints , generally my health has been good but on the rare occasions I have been in contact I have been helped quickly and with respect , every member of staff and nurses and doctors I have been in contact have been brilliant . I shall be leaving this surgery soon as I have moved out the area but I wished to leave a review to all involved the past 25 years to say THANKYOU
I have been a patient for over a decade but recently I felt the surgery stopped being helpful, the doctors and receptionist started being dismissive, I am guessing somewhere down the line they must have changed management or simply reorganised by different KPIs. I have been looking to leave them but just didn't feel strongly enough that they are bad just mildly so. I now do. Called for a suspicious mole which went up 5 times in size and leaking in the past month. They asked for photos which they dismissed as inconclusive but didn't even bother to call me to say so. I waited 7 hours for their call and it never came. I only know because I called to check. Been worried out of my mind and said it was appalling leaving me wait like this to no avail. Was told it was 'a matter of opinion'. Oh, and that they had a clinic to run. May I add that the suspicious mole is on a child! Shocking attitude and practice. We are of course leaving. If you're new to the area, I suggest to stay away. The treatment we got today is not a unique experience. It has been the norm for the past couple of years or so. We just had enough now because this time it's about our daughter.
