Story

The Norfolk Arms hotel has a wealth of history and heritage. It’s a charming Georgian Coaching Inn, built over 200 years ago by the 10th Duke of Norfolk. It soon became the local meeting place and a popular resting spot for weary travellers. To this day the Arundel Society for the Prosecution of Thieves and Felons still hold their annual Dinner at this Arundel Hotel - a tradition which dates back to the 18th century.

The Norfolk Arms hotel is set under the battlements of Arundel Castle and has an atmosphere of traditional permanence, the kind that prevails in all the gracious buildings that make up Britain's colourful heritage.

Staff very helpful, reception, breakfast and bar staff all helpful, a great short break. Breakfast was fresh and well served, waitress was extremely helpful and polite. Reception staff were very helpful and polite. I would highly recommend the Norfolk arms in Arundel.a big thank you to Iggy, Alice , Calvin and all staff who made our stay just right.
Stayed at this hotel while driving through. I enjoyed everything about this hotel, it’s historic, charming and definitely a one of a kind. I appreciated our spacious room and slept so well in our king size bed with beautifully soft bedding. Receptionist was very helpful and very friendly. In such a modern world this hotel is a gem and would love to stay here again.
A great hotel with rich history and plenty of characters. Great location, quiet, with convenient parking, and some rooms even offer the castle view. I had a wonderful stay, thanks to the friendly and helpful staff, especially Sue, Mira, and the rest of the team.
Loved this old fashioned coaching inn, wish I could stay a week just to read the selection of books in the room!nVery good bed, lovely old enamelled bath what a treat to lie in a bath that doesn’t go cold in 5 minutes! and gorgeous curtains. The building is old and quirky our home is similar age so can just imagine the nightmare maintenance!, but the bedroom was sweet smelling and very romantic.nGood cooked breakfast plus lovely fresh fruit and superb proper breakfast croissant.
we had a hen party afternoon tea and the food has really gone down hill ,had the same 3 years ago and it was exceptional. only a few sandwiches which were dry,dry scones and a couple of different cakes ,no where near as nice as before
