If I could give 0 stars I would. They will refuse to accept a referral until you’re in crisis/physically unwell from your mental illness or self harmed/attempted to end your life. Once you are accepted, the support is minimal. Unqualified ‘support workers’ will call you occasionally. Some are nice, most are awful, invalidating and condescending. I found myself acting like a petulant child at times, because they speak to you as though you are one! The ‘psychiatrist’ was appalling. His knowledge was so outdated and the write up verging on hilarious it was so bad. No diagnosis, after an uncomfortable and awkward one hour appointment. Then put on a waiting list for ‘treatment’. I total I was assessed 8 times with no help offered. This was over a period of over a year. Why use their funding for multiple assessments re-traumatising to service users who have been through trauma, why not have one assessment and then offer therapy/help?! This service made my mental health worse. I wouldn’t have believed it could be this awful if someone had told me, but from experience, it’s absolutely horrendous. Broken service, and they can’t even blame under-funding, because they must spend a fortune on all the ‘assessments’ they do.
This organisation are not fit for purpose. Even after all the deaths they're responsible for they've learnt zero lessons. These people are dangerous for peoples already poor mental health. In special measures for the fourth time since 2015. They've pretty much been in special measures since then. I'm sure they'll be responsible for further deaths due to their lack of care towards people. They're now telling suicidal people to go to the local council for help, which out even speaking to the person concerned. These people are dangerous. How many more deaths do we have to see before we have a decent mental health service in Norfolk and Suffolk.
I would give 0 if I could . I saw a mental health practitioner from here at Acle medical centre . She was rude unsympathetic and did not allow me to speak constantly interrupting me with the only question she seemed to know which was why. It took all my effort to keep a calmness to my tone as I thanked her for her time and left the room. I will not seek any medical help for mental health from the nhs moving forward. The experience has left me without a doubt this organisation holds not one single care for the mental health of men and I shall never approach any government organisation for help with this again . My advice is to trust your freinds and family and above all god . The nhs and this trust have but one suggestion for men’s mental health sedate them with medication and if you don’t wish to follow their narrative blindly then they waste your time until you give up and leave
This trust plays with life of people. I fight with them since three months because of my son's wrong medical treatment, and I don't know what will be in the end. Thank for the nurses, they try to do the best, but everything else is a big zero.
offers no help at all. voted worst in the country and put under special measures and don't worry - they live up to their name. go anywhere else but here!
The service I have received as a service user with Charlotte Bowater being my worker is absolutely amazing. To think last December we was both thinking I may need to go on the ward, Thanks to Charlotte's support I managed to avoid that. I have a lot of gratitude to Charlottte as part of NSFT. I believe she deserves recognition for how great she is at her job.
45 mins to get through to First Response. Their advice- get legal help. Get an advocate. Make a complaint. Anything but support from Norfolk and Suffolk Mental Health. Give the money back and admit- only help is 111 Ambulance and or A-and E
Admittingly ,I have not stepped foot inside this trusts building ,nor any other mental healthcare trust, in the whole of the country. So you may wonder why I am putting up a review? To warn others of the perils of making any genuine complaint ,about any part of the NHS in the country. I was under Acle Medical Centre.I have had to complain three times ,in the last few years.Regarding serious negligence, misdiagnosis, forging patients medical records, withholding patients drugs prescribed by hospital, amongst many other problems.First one was in 2016, basically the NHS was not interested & let the surgery investigate itself?note; Dame Janet Smith report from inquiry, stated that this should not happen re;Harold Shipman scandal Second one in 2019. Again in 2020,this time I made my complaint direct to the staff in the reception area.As they were once again, playing their "school playground bully boy tactics".So I told them in front of other patients, that they were this & not behaving in either a professional way ,nor were they being very grown up.Also,to say that they were lazy, incompetent, obnoxious characters,etc..So no swearing or violence on my part at all.But that is what they did not like!! What I had said touched a nerve-good it was meant to!.So in order to get back at me.They concocted a tale with some corrupt police officers within Norfolk Constabulary to come up with the idea of a "extreme police incident"?? Forget that they have cctv inside/outside of the surgery. And that no police turned up when I was down there?? This then set off a chain reaction, whereby I was "bumped off" this GP register & also banned from every GP in the whole of Norfolk!! One year on after this & being transferred over to a SAS team ,based in Ipswich.who have barely communicated with me & I refused to see them It now turns out that after being accused of being a "mental patient with issues" by both the surgery/nhs & police?? No one as yet, can produce these mental health patient records, wonder why that is?? Now after contacting various CEO's of these trusts ,this one being one of them.I am trying to get hold of these records but everytime they/nhs get caught out. They then say my records are with another? So at this rate after one year so far I may end up covering/contacting, a large part of the UK who knows? One would have thought, that they would stop "digging with that shovel"! hmmm... maybe they are thinking of bringing a "digger" in now, for that deep hole? Though unfortunately for them & rather embarrassingly, They have caught the attention of legal representatives ,who reside abroad!! hahaha They are very interested in the corrupt activities of the NHS, "doctoring" peoples records, pardon the pun. So now we wait & see.....
Son referred here for treatment in 2010. Has been assessed by its own clinicians multiple times as requiring services with two noting NSFT cannot provide level of care needed. Only treatment plan offered breached NICE guidance and upon refusal told until he accepted it no access to psychiatrist. GP requests for individual funding to access care outside of NSFT thwarted by NSFT claims they not only can provide, they will do so. Now, 10 1/2 years since first referral, in which nil treatment has occurred and son now desperately unwell, NSFT are saying all care will be provided by social services, who are legally barred from providing any psych services, and NSFT refusing to provide and refusing to admit they cannot provide care required and thus allow him to seek care elsewhere in the NHS. Do not accept a referral to NSFT. Ask to be referred to another provider. Single star rating as sadly I cannot leave a nil or more the appropriate negative rating NSFT deserves.
The service is no doubt overstretched, underfunded, etc. But IMO the managers are responsible for most of the issues at NSFT. Stop shuffling them around and just sack them!!! Value the staff that work their arses off and go the extra mile for their clients. Employ more people with lived experience not just 'peer-support workers'
