Where do I start? I am in the hospital right now with meningitis. I thought I would have a quick read through the reviews to see if people are having similar care as I am getting. Firstly I was disgusted to find someone has rated the hospital one star because the phone wasn't answered, was not even a patient for goodness sake! Someone gave 2 stars because of car parking fees.. most charge nowadays, it's the norm. Secondly people have said they have been sent away practically dying.. really? I don't think so! Thirdly and most importantly staff. Rude? Come on now.. The very first night a gentleman opposite me was moaning he was hungry, not asking politely but asking like a whining child. The young nurse, rushed off her feet, did something I thought was selfless. Not a big thing but gave up her cheesy snack she had for her own break time. I can name probably name more than 10 nurses, sisters, carers and a housekeeper (whom secures me a jug of squash every morning.. shhh). That have ALL been friendly, courteous and professional! Not one has ever been rude. The doctor's have been fantastic and told me what is happening in terms I understand. These people have chosen this profession to help people and to make a difference.. they have as I am still here.. long hours, short staffed.. they need bloody medals! Thank you West Suffolk Hospital, you must be proud of your staff.

I won't go to any other hospital, I have had 4 children there, they saved my eldest daughter's and my lives, with their quick reactions and hurried me down to surgery. The staff are lovely and they put the patient first, hands down the best hospital for miles.

I've finally been discharged. I just want to walk around, after being in bed almost 3 days! BUT.... that is nothing on what the nurses put up with daily. I'm shocked at how they're treated. The job they do is amazing, and they deserve so much more credit, and pay. Clearly under staffed, yet the passion for their job keep them going. I saw nurses, hit, spat at, language was despicable! The whole time, trying to help you! They are a special breed of human, I couldn't do it. The patience and professionalism they display amazed me. Well done nurses! We salute you.

Just had an overnight stay due to atrial fibrillation and the care and treatment was amazing, not fair to mention anyone in particular because everyone was so kind and attentive but one young female member of staff treated me as if I was her favourite grandad as she wheeled me down to the discharge room, talking to me and showing me the snow through the corridor window, I wish I had a granddaughter like that. Thank you one and all.
