Being a Marriott, this does as expected: Clean rooms, comfortable beds, usual in room facilities; This hotel has an excellent gym and spa. As for my observations: Breakfast is superb, a great choice on the buffet, and it is served until late. The other fair on offer ranges in quality from OK, to good, I've stayed here on numerous occasions, and have sometimes been surprised at how good the food was, but mostly it is as I would expect, OK. The air conditioning in our room this time round was very noisy, meaning that the window had to be left open. Normally fine by me, but as this place seems to be a jumping off point for weekend revellers, expect to be disturbed on a Friday or Saturday night if your room is at the front of the hotel and the window is open. The staff set this place apart, in all my visits, I've never met anyone who wasn't keen to help. Finally, assistance dogs are welcome. I'm sure I'll be back.

My first visit to the Leisure Club as a guest. There was enough equipment for when the gym gets busy with a good selection available. The swimming pool is not very deep. 1.5 metres at its deepest, so not really suitable if your wanting to do the crawl. The sauna and steam room though not very big are adequate. The changing rooms are clean with large lockers with hangers. Showers have hair/body wash and conditioner dispensers. There is also a small spinner to take excess water from your bathing trunks. Towels are also available at reception for 50p. It was an enjoyable visit and I will definitely be going back.

Lush rooms. Very spacious with plenty of seating available for a group pow-wow before a night out. The staff that I met were pleasant and helpful; nothing was ever too much for them to deal with, no matter the time of day. Best part: the bathroom. A bath big enough for me to stretch out in (5"8) with room to spare

Only stayed the one night so didn't get a chance to use any of the facilities there. So 4 stars for the parts we used. Very welcome staff at reception desk. Had a drink in the bar. Very nicely laid out. Great bedroom, comfy bed. Large tv. Sofa and chair. Big bathtub. Good Shower. Tea and coffee making facilities. Ironing board and iron. Safe. Would definitely recommend this place.

An updated posting as I’ve been here a few times and I’ve reviewed this hotel before. Previously 4 stars, this time only 3. This visit I had issues with the TV in my room. I reported it to reception and an engineer attended to take a look. After a few minutes it became clear the issue wasn’t going to be resolved quickly. The engineer did offer to see if we could be moved to another room but I declined as we were only there for one night. To compensate us he offered us a free bottle of wine which we accepted. Surprisingly he even brought the wine to the room himself (surely he has better things to do!). Anyway, it was a bottle of Rioja, and frankly the worst bottle of wine I’ve ever tasted. It tasted really bad, so we didn’t drink it. I couldn’t really complain because it was free, but it made me wonder how well the wine was kept in the hotel as I’ve never had wine here before...
