Visited this lovely pub for a roast with friends, the food was lovely, available in 3 sizes depending how hungry you are. Good price too. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, nice & clean space especially the toilets. Car park at the back. Sadly not very wheelchair friendly but it’s an old building. Very cramped, lots of tables and chairs crammed in but apart from that we had a lovely visit and would definitely go back.
We stopped here on our way to a weekend in Somerset and we loved it so much we came back for the Sunday roast on our way home 3 days later. The food is some of the best pub food I’ve had ever. High quality local products used, damn near every was made in house as well. Real gravy too, not that generic watery nonsense. And the service was very hospitable. We met the chef too who was so kind and remembered us next time. It’s a real “mom and pop” place. Cozy and homey as well. We will be back!
Lovely birthday Sunday lunch with family. Food was excellent, fast friendly service & a wonderful atmosphere. Definitely going to make this a monthly visit for Sunday lunch & such a lovely place to visit just for a relax drink.
We used to come here years ago - not sure why we stopped as there's no real reason. We were looking for somewhere to take our elderly neighbours for lunch his 87th birthday and my wife had been here a couple of weeks ago and said it was good. I phoned and reserved the table - the person who took the call was very nice and friendly. They serve an excellent pint of real ale! The menu isn't huge but don't let that put you off as it is excellent. My wife and neighbour had the pie of the day, Bob had the liver and I had loin if venison. Superb! That's all that needs saying. Rather full from the main I did venture to have the creme brulee as they haven't messed with it by adding unnecessary fruit etc. which was very nice. My only observation and not a criticism is there isn't enough vegetarian choice and my daughter would struggle if we took her - but that's just our personal view. Would I go there again? Definitely! Would they want us there again? I would hope so.
Lovely traditional dog friendly pub in a beautiful area. Friendly staff and the food is excellent as are the various ales, ciders and other drinks. It stands out as an exceptional pub in my view.
It's a long time since we have been to the new inn. Friendly local pub the serves reasonable pub grub. Venison pie was very tasty and ham eggs and chips was huge. In an area where the pub food is very poor, this is worth returning to.
Lovely pub. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Best tomato soup I've ever had. Fillet steak absolutely fantastic. Just fabulous
Fabulous, friendly pub. I had bangers and mash, traditional style, which is highly recommended. Thanks to Caroline and staff for an enjoyable evening.
Stunning Sunday lunch !!! staff were great, only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because we paid 10.50 for a dessert, which I think is a bit much ! On investigating the receipt, it became apparent that the dessert was £7.50 with an extra 3 pounds charge for a small scoop of ice cream Apart from that one gripe everything else was perfect
A proper English village pub! Friendly welcoming staff, an excellent regular menu plus daily specials, and well sourced food, beautifully cooked. A hidden gem.
