One of the great Dublin pubs with a lot of original fixtures and fittings over one hundred years old. Located at the back of Gaiety Theatre - was and is a favourite of theatre goers. Nice atmosphere and does a decent food offering in afternoon - soups, sandwiches and chips etc. There is a lounge bar upstairs open from Thursdays to end of weekend. Very friendly professional bar staff - good banter and say hello to everyone coming in. Just off the top of Grafton Street. Guinness - fantastic - €6. House wine Cab Sav - €7.20.
Popped in at lunchtime for a couple of drinks on recommendation and what a lovely place. Attentive, polite staff. A lovely pint of Guinness. Cosy surroundings and understated elegance. We didn't eat as we weren't hungry enough yet but the food looked simple, wholesome and perfect. Hope to get back for a repeat visit and try the food before we leave.
One of the great Dublin pubs still in existence. Real barmen dressed accordingly. Good non fussy food, great pints, no TV, just conversation and having a great pint in an unchanged Dublin pub as it was probably 70 yrs ago. Well done Nearys.Food: 4/5
One of the best pints of Guinness in town. Unchanged by time, I love the old decor in here. Waiters and waitresses wear shirts and bows which is just a touch of added class. Food was delicious and authentically Irish. Nice quiet spot for chats and pints. No booming music
Fantastic location for gathering of friends. Super helpful and experienced staff ensured all went smoothly and drinks served efficiently. Lovely surroundings and we could all hear each other as not competing with loud music. Outdoor seated area great option for anyone wanting fresh air. We will be back again! Thanks
Lovely pint of Guinness. Price has creapt up to €6, although not bad considering they do table service outside.
Called in here today for the 1st time in almost 8 years. I had the most delicious pulled pork sandwich . It was very tasty & I highly recommend. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with pleasant staff. Well worth a visit.
Classy little lounge area for lunch and a drink. Staff is very neatly dressed and food is very good. I had the sliced beef sandwich and my wife had the shrimp scampi and chips. The beef sandwich isn't huge, but it's very tasty. We were expecting the shrimp scampi to be in a butter and garlic sauce, but they were breaded instead AND my wife LOVED THEM. She's still talking about them. Seats are a bit cramped in the lounge area, but they have front and back patios and a two separate dining areas.
Neary's is comfortably one of Dublin's best pubs. Always guaranteed to have a good chat with some strangers, staff are fantastic, pints are good, decor to help melt you into your seat.Food: 4/5
I like this pub because there's no TV or music but that's about it. The staff need to be trained in customer service. Not spending my hard earned cash in an overpriced establishment with grumpy and rude staff. The place could do with a clean too. The counter area was sticky and swarming with fruit flies.
