Neal's Yard Remedies Bath

About

We have been offering organic, natural health and beauty in Bath since 2001. Come in and have a cup of the herbal tea and say hello.

Story

The franchise of Neal’s Yard Remedies in Bath is co-owned by three natural health practitioners. Elizabeth Season an Australian-trained Naturopath, Jon Huxley is an Acupuncturist and Amanda Lewis Starks, a Medical Herbalist. We opened the shop at No. 7 in 2001 after working for Neal’s Yard Remedies for many years.

In September 2014 we moved a few doors up the street to larger premises giving us four therapy rooms and a lovely new shop.

We are all dedicated to ensuring that natural healthcare remains a viable choice for people and all became involved with Neal’s Yard Remedies for this reason. Our aim is for the Natural Therapy Rooms and the shop, to be a places that people find welcoming, helpful and inspiring.

Neal’s Yard, yes. More, it’s a modern day apothecary offering a unique and personal service which just can’t be rivalled by supermarkets or online shops. A hidden gem in Bath for those looking for herbal remedies lovingly concocted by trained herbalists. Lovely staff who were all happy to help; I had the pleasure today to speak with Amanda who recommended exactly what I was looking for. I walked out happily with two bottles of tinctures ready for whatever the winter months will throw at me!
Needs to highlight on the website that if you book in for a treatment, you need to climb 3 flights of narrow winding stairs, with sharp unfinished edges that snag your clothes, before reaching a stuffy unventilated attic room. Treatment itself reflexology with Anna was ok, but not particularly relaxing with all the windows open and the sound of a particularly untalented busker on an accordion blaring in from the street slicing through the melodic chimes of Anna’s relaxation playlist. Considering you’re in Bath there’s probably some much better options out there, I advise looking elsewhere.
I'm satisfied with all the products I bought. It was made of natural materials, so I had no trouble using it for the first time, especially the rose balm was a good choice. Thank you for your kind guidance.
Many NY products are lovely but I stopped using this shop because identical NY products are often cheaper in Waitrose up the road, so I just order them online instead when on deal :
I had a very nice massage with Anna. She was able to focus on the sore points in my neck and shoulders successfully. The only problem was that she didn’t do it for the full 30 minutes - a lot of the time was spent talking and filling in forms. Very nice but would have liked the full time, as that’s what I paid for.
I have just had a fantastic massage with Maxine, a really professional and knowledgeable therapist. I would strongly recommend Maxine & the shop staff. Great shop. My daughter had a face massage with Sophie, she was delighted with the treatment & felt so relaxed after the treatment.
I used Rickards of Bath in June 2012 and found the staff to be extremely helpful. I was after a 'Jump' bag and couldn't source the right one anywhere - until I found these guys. I don't live in Bath and although I was sceptical about the website, I called the shop and was able to order the exact bag I wanted which was promptly sent to me with next day delivery at no additional charge. Very helpful friendly staff. Exactly what I needed. Highly recommend!
I had an amazing massage with Kyle - I can honestly say he one of the best therapists I've come across! I was visiting Bath for the day so I only had time for 30 minutes but would have paid for 90. He was so effective, my tense neck and shoulders felt 100% better afterwards. He was very knowledgeable, providing explanation and advice for how to prevent and relieve tension. I highly recommend!
Excellent products, especially the Frankincense range. Knowledgeable staff and a wide range of medicinal herbs and tinctures plants extracted in alcohol for first aid remedies and more. Lovely consulting rooms and highly qualified, experienced therapists. Come and visit us!
Horrid customer service - avoid especially if you are Chinese or Japanese Agree with the last reviewer. I have never been given in such rude and condescending manner. The older lady working on Thursday 24 May afternoon is not fit to work in any customer service capacity. I walked into the shop to book an appointment. There were a few people browsing in the shop but nobody queuing to pay. I was asked if I was lost I am oriental and had a bagpack. I said I was there to book a therapy appointment. I was then told that they were busy serving customers and I would have to wait. I have weekly treatments in Neals Yard convent garden or another branch in London. I have never been treated so rudely. If you are Chinese or Japanese, don't bother going to this shop unless you want to to be treated badly by "posh" lady. You have money to pay but this person obviously does not want your business. Go elsewhere.
