I booked this car so I could watch the Commonwealth Games. The day of my event was on the same day as the marathon so I used the chat service to ensure that the car park would be open at this time as the Commonwealth Games website warned about road closures etc. I was reassured that the car park would be open and available so I went ahead and booked it. After a long drive I arrived at the car park to find that the road and car park had been closed due to the marathon as well as the big shutters down on the car park. The stewards said that under no circumstances would I be able to use this car park that day. I drove around Birmingham and finally found an alternative parking space but the whole ordeal was incredibly stressful and avoidable if they had communicated with me properly. I the submitted a refund form to which I had a response asking for proof of payment etc., I responded to straight away and I am still waiting for my refund 48 days later! I am extremely disappointed that it is taking this long to process a justified refund, and I will be chasing them up until I get my money back. Update, I used the chat service to request an update to which they said its been denied as the car park was open! I am disgusted with how long this has taken to resolve and that they have not had the common curtesy to email me a response. Not to mention disappointed to not receive a refund as I couldn't even access the car park. Will not be using any NCP car parks again due to their extremely poor customer service!
Park anywhere but here if you can. I park in this car park 5 times a week as it’s provided by work but if I had the choice I would park anywhere but here. There are constantly problems with the barrier or machines and no staff on site to rectify the issues. This causes regular wait times of over an hour to get in or out which you can imagine is very frustrating! The prices are also extortionate. And considering it’s supposed to be a secure car park, I see multiple break ins to cars a year. If it’s your only option then good luck - if not then avoid.
Avoid avoid avoid! I left my car here for the day and it got broken into, as mentioned in other reviews there are no staff on site to help. Even when you complain to NCP and they assure you they will call back no one does. Worse car park ever for security please avoid unless you want your car broken into. I should have read the other reviews which warn about this.
Absolutely dreadful. Have been stuck in this car park on 3occasions in a queue of cars for more than 30mins. No one could get through to customer services stayed on hold the whole time. On one occassion when staff were present they were so rude and unhelpful. There's only one exit and entrance so please be prepared to spend an hour sat in the car waiting to leave and being on hold even when you get to the barrier. No explanation given as to why issues occur No compensation No customer service.
Absolute joke the car park is on Newhall street Birmingham. There is always something wrong causing huge delays making everybody late for work constantly or late to get home after a long day of work. Something needs to change. Our company pays a lot of money to park staff there and this is what we all have to put up with! What if there was an emergency and someone had to get out quick but can’t because of the constant delays! It’s 2023 this kind of thing shouldn’t be happening! Sort it out!!!
Useful for Jewellery Quarter parking. Worth getting the NCP app as it's easy to use. If you're staying in a hotel, ask if they offer discounts.
UNSAFE! NO STAFF! NOT SECURE I park here 5 times a week as part of our package at work. There appears to be a camp for rough sleepers on the upper floors. It is NOT SECURE. People can simply walk in because of lack of intelligent design from NCP. I have had my vehicle screen smashed and items stolen, as has a colleague. We did not have anything on display. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!
Tried to book parking near Alexander stadium for CW athletics meeting. Unfortunately, all were sold out. Decided to try this ncp and glad I did. There were plenty of spaces without booking and the shuttle bus was just outside. Excellent service and well organised games.
Expensive and not the clearest way of working with the pay in advance system when you get there. The QR code scanner isn't that obvious to find. Couldn't find a member of staff although the office lights were on. Car was secure.
This place felt like one of the most secure public car parks I've been too. It has shutter that is kept closed but as you approach it with your car it opens automatically, the door to access the building can only be opened if you have a ticket as it has a device to scan it. Because of these measures no one apart from those who have parked there could access the building.
