Needed to find a car park near the Hippodrome and for some reason this one had the highest star rating of the 3 nearest car parks to the theatre so we picked it. Well, it looks more like the sort of scrappy parking lot you find round the back of some shops for the staff to park in than a public car park. It's on ground level, open air, not very big, and surrounded by the backs of buildings with bushes growing out of the brickwork. When we went it had snowed recently and most of the car park - including the way in and out onto the street - was ankle deep in muddy slush and puddles. Parking spaces are tight, it's very poorly lit at night, and to top it off, the payment machines don't accept the not-very-new-now £1 coins! In future we'll use the Arcadia car park nearby instead.
Slightly confusing car park entrance but apart from that all OK.
Today I parked at your corn hill site Wolverhampton 530am and used the old style £1coins which I have had use for several weeks to due to you not updating your meters til now, to my loss today your machine kept money and didnt issue a ticket so I had to put a further £3 new coins in to park. This is isn't good £6.50 for the day all because no one can be bothered to put simple stickers on machines stating if they accept new or old £1coins still.
Don't park at Thorp Street car park overnight. Came back and found the passenger window smashed. We had nothing of value in the car or in view.
Warning - do not park here unless you want to be pay a £60 parking fine even after you’ve already paid for your parking via the Just Park app. That’s what happened to me.
Parking fine. Entry one way from the main pagoda roundabout to the Royal Ballet exit and exit out by the Holiday Inn. Using the justpark app or webpage to pay. No cash taken by the machines anymore.
Awful service and awful company. All the carparks are scrappy and unsafe do not park with them as i have received tickets even when parked correctly. Save yourself the hassle and park in a secure carpark and pay that bit extra. It is not even cheap there are other carparks in digbeth for cheaper. Stay away as they don't even have a complaints contact number its all done through email. They make their money thrpugh parking charges!!!
Bordesley Street, Birmingham car park. I have used this car park reluctantly as it is right in front of the LSST college i attend. It is full of potholes and the dust goes all over your car, when you try to open your window you can hear the dust particles scratching it. When it rains all the dust turns into mud and you have to spend more money to have your car washed. All this wouldn't have bothered me really but i had a bad experience last week with one of their wardens. I had parked my car in the car park at 9am and then i left to have lunch around 12:30pm. When i returned at 1:15pm there were no spaces left so i sat in my car waiting for someone else to leave. Suddenly to my left i see a white van park next to me and the driver is shouting YOU CANT PARK THERE, i opened my window fully and asked him whats the problem and he again shouted MOVE YOUR CAR. I was a bit confused as to who this person was as i could see no signage on the van. He then parked up and then i saw he was wearing the yellow hi-vis jacket and assumed he was a warden for Gallon car parks. He came over to my car and said MOVE NOW OR I WILL START WITH YOUR CAR FIRST. I got a little bit angry with him and shouted back saying WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM, I AM WAITING TO FIND A SPACE TO PARK MY CAR AS I HAVE PAID £3.20 FOR ALL DAY PARKING, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO RUDE, DID YOU GET OUT FROM THE WRONG SIDE OF THE BED OR DID YOU MISS OUT ON YOUR WEETABIX YOU BLOODY FOOL. After my little rant at him he seemed to just walk away. I sent an email to Gallan Parking but have not received a reply. I find it disgraceful when a person is given a little bit of authority they find it ok to abuse others. I truly hope this is a one off and this warden is not in the habit of confronting Gallan customers in this manner.
Multiple occasions had to move people injecting themselves with drugs from around my car. Most mornings there are needles in the car park. The twice I've called gallan about this they have advised they will move them on. That doesn't stop the problem or fix the mess. Ill b seeking alternative monthly parking. Wouldnt recommend at all, especially with kids who may pick up what they find on the floor! Disgusting, and I used to only moan about the pidgeon poop!
Why on earth your Payment machine is not accepting new £1 coins. You very well know that old coins are not available from any bank. Please get your Payment machine updated. I have also written to Birmingham Council .
