A small station with links to Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Picadilly. Staff in the ticket office are very helpful but there is no ticket machine at this station.nThe gap between the train and platform edge can be particularly large, especially on platform two.

Very nice place to live ,bus service excellent trains not excellent, un reliable plenty of shop a restaurants
Friendly and helpful ticket office staff. But difficult access issues getting on and off trains on platform 2. Big gap and high step up/down on/off train difficult for people with prams or elderly.
On Saturday we unfortunately missed the last train home to widnes, the station master was just locking up and did his absolute best to get a taxi for us,it was a wet horrible night and I am he would have glad just been glad to go home himself, so give this guy a pat on the back
