There was no clear signage about how to buy a ticket, or which direction to which platform. You have to go in a local shop for a paper ticket! There is no machine or touch in.nThere are no signs from Liverpool Lime Steet to Liverpool Central.nThere is limited signage and the station.nWhen you are on the train not all stops are clearly marked.nThis is one of the most challenging metros I have used.nThe trains are cheap and regular and they are clean.
This was a great train station to depart from, with a large area for the many services! It is easy to navigate around using the signs and the accessibility level is proper, supported by escalators. All the departures are listed on a board and there is a regularly updated one on each platform, which have consistent colour schemes with Merseyride rail. The platform I used with my friend was appropriately sized for our train, however it was unfortunately delayed.
A busy standard train station , certain members of staff can be a bit grumpy and rude but on the whole a well signposted train station. The only gripe is the lift is always out of order , please fix it .
Had to go to Manchester Airport to book the hotel for the night before travelling took the train eased the strain nice and relaxed journey
I pass through Central Station most weeks as It has lines to Chester, the Wirral and Southport and many of the trains run at 15 minute intervals. The service is normally very good and reliable and usually on time. Unfortunately at the moment the toilets are shut and will take 14 weeks to refurbish. Don't know why it's taking so long, I've just had a complete new bathroom installed and that only took 4 days. One other problem is that most of the benches around the station are made of steel and are freezing cold to sit on in the Winter. I suppose they've done that to stop people making themselves too comfortable.
