We have encountered numerous issues with the suit hire department in the Solihull branch, for what should have been a straight-forward service for our wedding. During our first visit, I was given the opportunity to try on a small selection of suits that were available in store. It was extremely difficult to make choices based on limited choices both of suit styles and colours of accessories. At the time, we were assured that the cravat colour that was chosen would be available for hire. However, at the time of our order being processed in our final fitting a month later, we were informed that these colour choices were no longer being stocked and were discontinued – essentially wasting hours of our fitting time over the previous weeks! It is extremely disappointing to show off products as part of the fitting that were no longer stock. Additionally, we were incorrectly told at the point of hire that the package we had been fitted for was not the standard package and so an amendment had to be made to every individual order to ensure the jacket and trousers would match in colour. The orders had to be amended one-by-one over several hours and needed manager approval. However, we only found out a few weeks before the event that this was COMPLETELY INCORRECT and a different colour trousers had been ordered for no reason. The assistant processing the order had got it completely wrong, wasting hours processing unnecessary orders and it is only because we contacted the store did someone else notice the error, on a rare occasion when the store phone was answered. This is completely contradictory to your website pledge that states ‘the store team will be there to assist and will always endeavour to resolve any issues with your order.’ Not only was it a struggle to contact your Solihull store at any time of day but your staff members were incompetent and continually blamed a ‘legacy system.’ Furthermore, the majority of our eight outfits had been sent to the Solihull store, despite all of my groomsmen requesting that theirs should be sent to their local store – in various locations across the UK. After receiving an email stating that all suits were in transit to Solihull against our wishes, we then needed replacement orders to be dispatched for some, but not all recipients for the correct trousers and pick-up locations. To add to the confusion, some groomsmen received the correct trousers from the original order and others received wrong items. This was a stressful time for us all in the build up to such an important event. Overall, this whole process has been absolutely frustrating and has added unnecessary stress to our wedding planning. Due to appalling communication in the store, I have been forced to make numerous trips during my working hours to resolve these issues. There was nothing on the order sheets that gave any indication that the trousers would not match the jacket – and I trusted that the staff would have the expertise in this area. Promising your customers that you will ‘resolve any issues with your order’ is only applicable if your Store Assistants are aware of the issues in the first place. It should not be the customers job to make your Assistants aware of their mistakes. This is unacceptable. We feel incredibly let down as we have paid you Full-Price, almost to the amount of £1,000, for what should have been a premium service. Issues with communication and the poor-quality customer service have overshadowed our whole experience. We will be very reluctant to use Moss Bros in the future, nor would we be inclined to recommend your services to others. We did not feel that the branch showed any sympathy towards our issues and we often felt like an inconvenience when communicating with the store with our service issues. Being told to ‘pass my issue onto Head Office’ simply is not good enough
Wanted a suit for a wedding occasion, had no success with other high street stores. Moss Bros, Solihull have very friendly staff, saw the manager David Carlyon who was extremely helpful and sorted me out with a lovely looking suit. Very pleased, would recommend this store to anyone and would be my first port of call for any other suits in the future.
Hired suits from here well in advance and instead of telling me they didn't have the right sizes they just sent me a load of random sizes. Nice one.
Located close to TKmax the sale signs encourged me to take a look. Found a great looking grey sports jacket on sale but not in my size. Friendly staff ordered in my size for next day delivery free. Has to be my favourite store for buisness casual wear. Few good deals to check out here. Blue jacket in photo is priced very well...
A poor customer experience. Essentially had to sort myself out looking for a suit for a friend’s wedding. Security tags were left on the suit after paying, meaning I had to go back to the store to get them removed.
All the staff at moss bros were fantastic but James who I mainly dealt with was outstanding. He tailed 5 suits for me and all but 1 needed altering, this was completed in good time ready for my wedding. There certainly was no push for any type of suit or style. This is definitely the place for all of your suit needs
Dont waste your time, they couldnt care less. Phoned about wedding suit hire. Lady on the phone at 3.10pm today, your in the wrong job as your customer service and telephone manner is shocking. I called up to see about booking 5 of us to go and get fitted for wedding suits. Told me to book online, so emphasised I wanted 5 of us to go. Then told we can do that but will only get an hour slot. So would recommend going seperately, completely missing the point of making it a group exercise. When I mentioned that I wanted navy blue and tails, I was basically told how they dont fit well and will be really uncomfortable. She literally was telling me anything to get me off the phone. Completely ruined the experience for me and put me off shopping at Moss Bros. I will take my thousand pound budget elsewhere to a proffessional company who actually have time for their customers. No wonder they have had financial problems.
Posting on behalf of fiance- Excellent service from 2 out of 3 staff members! I went in this afternoon to a pre booked appointment with my Best Men for our suits for my wedding. I initially spoke to two members of staff, one male called David and one female called Hannah, and explained why I was there and that the rest of my party were just outside, David said he will be with me but I am just with a customer now. I apologised as no one was at the counter, so honest mistake. Hannah then came over to assist in the mean time. David came to join once he was free and said 'do you want to just look through the swatches and tell us the colour you're after' as I explained that I had already looked online and found a suit colour for myself to be made and a suit colour to match that was also for hire. Hannah happened to find the colour I was after for myself as it was hanging on display but David intervened and said 'that's not available, I was looking for that party yesterday'. Unfortunate news for me but so far everything is going fine but out of nowhere, David's attitude changed completely. While looking through the swatches, Hannah bought over a suit colour for hire and asked 'how about this?' I replied by letting her know that the hire one was more brown, so she took it away. I then found the colour and David said 'the colour I was looking at was the same as the suit hanging' which happened to be the same one that Hannah had just bought over. I said 'Hannah has just bought this over and it doesn't look the same as this is more brown'. David then said 'it is the same colour, it's called oatmeal'. I then looked at the swatch colour and said 'this isn't oatmeal, it's neutral'. David, now at the counter then said, without looking at the swatch, 'no it's called oatmeal'. Hannah rejoined us so I showed her the colour I was after for the suit hire, she then took it over to David and one of my best men over heard him saying to Hannah 'its the one over there' she said 'no it's different' he said 'no it's the same' so she walked off and came back with the suit colour for hire which was definitely different to the one hanging. Rather than the rest of our appointment continuing with David, another staff member called Olaf took over our appointment after Hannah had explained what had happened and what we were looking for. I told Olaf about the suit colour I wanted for myself and he offered to double check as no one had actually rechecked but unfortunately it was a definite no for the colour I wanted for myself so we just continued with the appointment for the suits for hire. We then continued up to the sizing room with Olaf who was great, happy to answer any questions I had and give interesting facts on certain traditions. Olaf was happy to leave us to get one with banter between the three of us and remained professional and friendly throughout. He also gave his own opinions as to sizings which were taken onboard, and explained his reasons for the suggestions. If we had Olaf and Hannah from the start, it would've been a fantastic time despite not being able to get a suit for myself and I would have definitely given 5 stars. Unfortunately we had the misfortune of being treated in a disrespectful manner by an arrogant individual who decided to change his attitude for an unknown reason and wouldn't listen to customers or staff members who were telling him he was wrong. This all coming from a staff member who is ment to be a "manager" is alarming.
Wedding hire suits are a terrible fit . I don't know how they are so bad after they measure you. When I took the suit back they were really rude to me .£120 to hire a badly fitted suit for a day. You can buy a decent suit for £200 then pay £50s with of adjustments you get to keep the suit and will look 10 times better. .
Low review mainly for customer service. Couldn’t even accommodate a quick transaction for a man in a hurry. And when I politely asked “Can I just make a very quick purchase? There’s an unused till you can side step half a metre toward and put this through.” You’d think that’s a reasonable request which even the customer being served accommodated cos he’d be there for a while. Staff were short and abrasive with me Anyway, moral of the story: Do NOT go to this branch if you are in need of a quick off-the-rack transaction, and also if you like polite, friendly, non-abrasive staff serving you.
