I have never written any reviews whatsoever, even a positive one, but I have to write this one. I'm a student at Kingston uni and I have been going to several gyms around my area for many years. I am well aware of how the gym classes work and also their policy for members. This time, I signed up for a membership on campus, as the new timetable they promote apparently seemed quite nice. I did so even though I live far away from uni, just for the sake of the classes. However, soon after I paid my money, they said the timetable is 'provisional' and replaced the Zumba class I was interested into circuit. I did not like the sudden change but tried to adapt, hence gave it a go instead for a Sunday class which was Table tennis. Turned out- it was never a lesson but they just pulled out the table in the studio when they saw me, and you just have to do it on your own! I had never played the sport before so completely wasted my one hour. Why, in the first place then, is it listed as a 'class' when there is no instructor? I did no longer have any reason to go to the gym, because the gym, unlike what it seems on the brochure, did not offer what I expected. After all, they refused to give me any refund despite my status as a student. They said they cannot give any money back 'because I am a student'. I am not convinced of their explanation at all. If any Kingston student considers joining this gym, be careful. Or go to other gyms in your local area as I do. The other gyms, as far as I've experienced, at least try to understand your personal preference and suggest the options according to the client's circumstances.
