Paid over £21 for this dogs dinner and a pint of cider. You'd think that for that amount of money it would be a delicious sunday treat, but you'd be wrong. The potato's and yorkshire pudding were most likely "Aunt Bessies" frozen, tasteless and cold. The turkey seemed re-heated, old and brown around the edge of each slice, the beef rock hard and so chewy it was almost inedible. Macaroni Cheese and Vegetables that tasted burnt and microwaved burnt the roof of my mouth! and gravy from granules; the only surprise being the stuffing ball which actually had some taste to it! Only to add to the despair was the footage of football on every television in the place which I don't usually mind except that the sound was turned up to such a volume that I left the premises with an actual headache, not to mention the chance of any conversation completely lost. Never again, awful food and atmosphere. Not to mention the unfriendly waitress. If you have any self respect and love of good food The Moor Top in Heaton Moor is to be avoided at all costs.
Place looks lovely, plenty of space outside to dine and drink enjoy the sun. Very clean and tidy. Food was lovely, had the platter to share, full of options and flavour. Landlady very friendly and welcoming, and Laura Bar Staff, very polite with great customer service and waiting on skills. Came here to have lunch with my mum. Loved it.
Great food and service with a smile, Water for the dog and a decent pint or two for us. Does what it says on the tin Food: 5/5
Came in for the coffee and cake deal. The table was clean, the atmosphere was good and the carrot cake was fresh and tasty. Laura and Ellie were very helpful. We asked for more water in the tea pot and we were happily given this. Service with a smile and intelligent conversation. We will happily return.
I feel compelled to leave this review as what has happened to me and my friends tonight has left us in disbelief, If you want to have an evening out surrounded by coke sniffing lads then this is your venue. Probably the worst atmosphere I have experienced in a pub for a long time, from being asked to leave an “overcrowded” bar which was in fact empty , to then being subsequently kicked out by the landlady for reasons unbeknownst to us after we’d been there for ten minutes. Definitely avoid this place at all costs as there are much nicer alternatives in the area. Extremely disappointing. As a google review does not allow me to respond to your reply I have no option but to write a further review. As a regular local, I was appalled at the treatment of myself and 3 friends who are in their 60s. We came in for a drink, on our way to a meal. While ordering the drinks the bar staff tutted, rolled her eyes and seemed thoughly irritated by our presence. She then told us to move from the bar as we were crowding it. At the bar there were also 2 couples who were seemingly fine to stand by the bar, and were left alone. We said there is nowhere else to go as all the tables and chairs were occupied. She then disappeared and the manager asked us to leave as we had made the bar staff cry!! I fined this utterly baffling as no voices were raised. The manager maybe has very little experience and needs to wise up on how to treat customers. Just a footnote, one of our group has owned a couple of very successful bars in the area and was completely flabbergasted.
Came on a Thursday evening. Service was good served pretty quickly and food came quick. We had the steak sandwich which was nice but a bit chewy and fatty. Also had the pizza which was a decent size with a nice amount of toppings. Final meal was the katsu curry which tasted really fresh and was a good portion size with lots of sauce.Food: 4/5
Went there to watch a football game during Euro 2024 and it had a good atmosphere. There were plenty of screens which meant you could get quite an unrestricted view. The only reason I've not given it five stars is because I think the drinks prices could be slightly cheaper.
Didn't eat here but Estrella Galicia on draft, absolutely lush. Reet down the hatch. Lovely. 11 out of 10 just for that.Food: 5/5
Really nice pub. Lovely staff, good food, spacious and quiet enough to chat with idle talk and music in the background. Came for Sunday lunch - had the beetroot, sweet potato, and butternut squash tart main roast with lovely nutty topping!. Will come back. Thank you
Lovely quiet pub for quick lunch, waiting time very reasonable and service was great! Food quality was lovely. Order from gluten free menu too again lovely food. Children’s portions also very generous. Dietary restrictions: Caters for gluten free a lot of places don’t. Parking: Parking on the back of the pub. Kid-friendliness: Kids activities packs on back of menu to keep them occupied whilst waiting on their food too.
