For me this pub is a real ale 5* heaven. Been about 5 times in the past. Thirteen of fourteen handpumps available on my Candlemass visit. I even found a new brewery..Flying Gang from Ponteland. I had an excellent pint of Spanish Gold £4.20. Casta not so happy as the rosé wine was Zinfandle which he dislikes intensely and thus settled on a cider, £4.10 a pint. The many rooms wrap round the central bar. There is also a covered courtyard/conservatory to rear. No TV'S thankfully but there is a games room with a pool table and two dart boards. Also books and boardgames available. Littlewoods pies and bar snacks. Not a food pub. Super visit for me. Casta not so happy.
The Magnet is the BEST pub in Stockport. The range of cask and craft ale is awesome. The quality of the beer is awesome. This pub's got bags of character and is a great old fashioned boozer. It's slightly off the beaten track, going away from town centre, but it's still easy walking distance from the station and is an absolute must if you're in Stockport and are looking for a decent beer.
This is not only the best pub in Stockport but one of the best in the North West. A great selection of real ales lies at the heart of its attraction but there are lots of plus points. A multi-roomed layout is complemented by an outdoor area and you'll soon find yourself chatting to someone. Service is excellent as well. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian pizza

This has to be one of the best pubs I've been in ,and there is a lot to choose from, the building looks a lot bigger on the inside than from the outside, really nice atmosphere a very friendly bar maid ,and the best real ale choice I've seen ,all at a fantastic price ,it's a must visit pubService: 5/5
It’s a pub that sources many of its beers from micro-breweries and is itself a micropub — so don’t expect many if any of your staple drinks on draught… but if you go there with an open mind, then you won’t be disappointed
The Magnet is one of the better pubs in Stockport. It is always busy and lively. The beer brands are all high-quality and include German pilsner such as Bitburger. There is a pool table located in the lower room. They also have their own pizza parlour, which is reasonably priced and of excellent quality. It is thoroughly recommended if you visit Stockport.
Probably one of my favourite pubs in Stockport. They always have a great beer selection and, even though its always busy, service is fast and quality. The pizza gaff that serves food is quality and top notch. I can honestly say I've never had a bad night here. It's a great meet up place for any groups as it is always so welcoming.Food: 5/5
Loads of great beer, both cask and keg. Attentive staff. Tasty pizzas available. Lots of little nooks and crannies inside as well as a big old outside seating area for summer. Best pub in Stockport.Food: 5/5
Love this place and visit regularly to play pool and have a drink. The only reason it loses a star is because you're forced to walk through the fairly enclosed smoking area to get to the out door seating and pizza shack.Service: 4/5
