Had the food here recommended by a few people. It didn't disappoint. Really enjoyed the chicken roll for starters. The lentil rolls were tasty but a little dry. The aubergine ratatouille was almost sweet and sour. I really enjoyed the devilled chicken and chicken rice. Friendly staff and prompt service. Ate with people who'd travelled there who felt it was very similar to food they had experienced in Sri Lanka.
We couldn't fault it! Excellent happy, friendly, smiley service, authentic music playing & the food was absolutely superb. It was my birthday & the waitress brought me cake with a candle & 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' written on the plate with chocolate
As newbies to Sri Lankan cuisine, it was a great 1st experience full of flavour. We will be back……. Service helped too to make some choices. Thanks
The food at Moonstone reminds me of something that would be served by my Granny - fresh and delicious; authentic food cooked with love. We were back with friends last night; and were delighted to find the food even more exquisite and the staff even more welcoming and attentive. I highly recommend the 'Wattalapan' dessert as a perfect way to finish off ones meal, the scents alone will transport you to the beautiful island of Lanka.
Highly recommended! We travelled from Bournemouth to Brighton and for NYE but also my best friends birthday. We wanted authentic Sri Lankan food and Moonstone did not disappoint. I could not fault the service or food. Being Sri Lankan myself it was a real treat to taste the amazing food on offer. We will be back and thank you to the team for an amazing meal
Food was amazing. We shared lentil patties and mango salad to start.. perfect combo. Then chicken curry, beetroot curry and garlic rice... all absolutely delicious as was the cheesecake. We had exactly the right amount of attention from the staff. I can't believe this place isn't busier
Visited for lunch with 8 family members. Absolutely delicious, authentic food. Everything we ordered was fantastic, and the meat eaters/pescatarians/vegetarians/vegans in the party were more than well catered for. Everyone enjoyed their food and there was plenty of choice. This was a return visit and we’ll certainly be visiting again in future. Staff were lovely.
Delicious food- the devilled cauliflower and the okra curry were particularly good. Great gluten free, veggie and vegan options. Nice unpretentious restaurant, easy to reach location opposite the Tesco superstore and great value. Would highly recommend. Vegetarian options: Loads of options. Dietary restrictions: Really well marked menu so you know immediately what is gluten free, vegan and vegetarian.
As a Sri Lankan I can definitely say that getting food from here made me feel much less homesick during holidays! Top notch food! Very nice staff as well! :
My family and I have the best time at dinner everytime. The staff provide quick and efficient service. Super fresh delicious food and every dish was unique. Really good quality food . It was so lovely inside ! Beautiful Plenty of space and very cosy . Its always an excellent experience ! Thank you so much Moonstone
