I come here whenever I visit my Mum in Brighton. Amazing quality for the value. The lunch time special that finishes at 5pm is a bargain you can not miss out on. Food has always been lovely. Recently visited and paid £21 for 3 people to eat and drink! The price makes the food quality sound unbelievable. Service is good.
For some reason, I only visited the restaurant once during the time we lived in Middle Street a couple of years ago but my only experience so far was very good. I had the two course lunch deal for £4.95, and I definitely wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it was. For starters I had some sort of a vegetable soup which was pretty nice but the best thing was the main course for which I had an amazing green curry. The restaurant was quite busy and noisy at lunch time but the atmosphere was nice and the waitress very friendly and polite.
My partner and I ordered a delivery from here for the first time yesterday. It was my birthday and i was ravenous so ordered quite a few dishes. All of them were absolutely disgusting and we had to throw everything away apart from the prawn crackers! 24hrs later I still feel quite unwell. The seafood Pad Thai is very sweet and stodgy and had clearly been precooked and then microwaved , nothing like a pad Thai should be. It also contained tiny whole little crabs, shell, guts and all! The chicken and prawns in our various dishes was cheap, overcooked and rubbery. The whole steamed sea bass, oily, full of mushed up little scales, and inedible. The ribs were a complete abomination- they looked like they had been boiled down to gristle and were floating in some kind of oily broth. They couldn't even get the salad right- pre-prepared and had clearly been sitting around for hours, ridiculously small, swimming in thin liquid. I have never had such a disgusting takeaway before.
My favourite restaurant in Brighton. Top 5 for me in the UK from a food perspective. Lunch deal for £6 is fantastic. Food is absolutely amazing. Never too busy, always seating available. Great tucked away place close to parking. Most underrated place to eat in Brighton by far. Only thing that could improve is the service. Which can be slow. But the food more than makes up for it.
Wow! This place is so good. A definite hidden gem. With a delightfully cheap lunch menu which runs until 4/5pm everyday, even weekends ! and amazing customer service and range of beers I would basically go every day. This is my go-to Thai. And they deliver!
The Pad Thai was one of the best i have had, and strangely the free dish we got for ordering over £20 was probably my favorite. The only downside was the sauce that came with the Moo Yang was not pleasent however the meal was enjoyable none the less.
I arrived here desperate for food. I chose the banquet set menu at £17.50 and did not regret it. Three courses later I was stuffed. Beer was cheap. Staff were attentive and friendly. Minus one star for the inaccessible bathroom.
Went here with a friend and have to say it was nothing special. We ordered quite a few items. The portions were reasonable considering how restaurants are run at the moment but the food itself average. May go back again and try something else at a later date.
Disappointing. The steamed pork dumplings were very bland. Spring rolls from the freezer and my massaman curry was watery, beige and bland with no veg apart from large chunks of onion. The chicken tasted cheap and rubbery. I really expect better from a Brighton restaurant with so much competition around. Better Thai food can be had more cheaply at many pubs that serve Thai food.
Ordered two green Thai Curries, The Pad Thai Noodles, and the mixed vegetarian starter. The green Thai Curry came without rice, called the restaurant to query and see if they could send us the rice, the person who picked up my call stated that “rice is not included with their green Thai curries” and one has to obviously order rice separately - we were not informed about this when we put the order through Deliveroo. Asked if they could send us the rice and that we were happy to pay for the rice and the delivery again the answer given was “no, sorry, order again through Deliveroo”. Had to in the end eat the green Thai Curry with home made rice instead, which would have been fine only if all the dishes ordered had not been micro waved and sent as ready made. Terrible food and service. Wasted money and evening.
