Excellent Links golf course at West Somerset. You can experience the typical Links golf conditions here: small challenging greens, long grass, coastal gusts, sudden showers. Nice to experience links golf without going north to Scotland.
We were visiting the club for a Junior match so we didn't play, but I wanted to leave a review on how lovely the clubhouse staff were. We were made to feel very welcome, they were all super friendly and really nice to all the juniors who took part.
What a gem of a course. Course layout would be handy on the scorecard as I left the clubhouse without taking a picture of it and got lost on a few holes lol. Thin fairways and deep bunkers provide the challenge but what a view. Endless fields and hills on the front 9 and beautiful ocean on the back 9. Friendly staff and great facilities. Thank you.
Very pleasant welcome when we arrived. A very reasonable green fee for the time of year. The pace of play was good too with no holdups. The course is playing beautifully and the greens are in spectacular condition.
Booked the earliest 7.10hrs tee on a clear but windy morning on 16th September 2025 in order to avoid embarrassment as I had not played links golf for many years.nWith wind assistance I drove the first shirt par 4 green and got my birdie.nI was dreading the back 9 which was mainly against the wind.nOn hole 4 I was invited by two members to join them, and was grateful for their guidance on where to place the shot.nThe course itself was immaculate on both the fairways and greens.nSome tricky putts and small greens.nFor the price I would highly recommend this wonderful gem.nThe pro shop was closed on my arrival and when I finished, but booking a tee was simple. Starting early meant that I didn't see any other golfers until the turn.nMake this a must visit if you are down thus way. 5 star+
