Very good pub local to Butlin’s. It’s perfect for a change with the kids and the bonus is the huge play area.nThe only thing it could do with is something for the children below the age of 2/3.nThe food was good and its one of the rare pubs that has Red Stripe beer on draft.
Wonderful atmosphere, most people like me in there were at the butlins weekend, sky sports on.nFantastic range of alcohol from the bar,all kinds of different country's and local to the west country.nWent on a Sunday, a set winter food menu with a specials board, vegetarian option on there. Sunday carvery was being served from 12 - 2.30pm I just missed it however the sausage x3 mash and garden peas with a load of gravy was fantastic, other arf had a jacket potato cheese and beans with the side salad, quite a bit there, potato was cooked perfectly soft,butter option was on the side. The 2 meals and 2 pints Glastonbury ale and thatchers apple and blackcurrant just over £38, well worth it.nStaff very welcoming and friendly.nDog friendlynHighly recommended.
Wow.... what a gem of a place. 3 of us came here for lunch, we ordered the mixed grill, ploughman's and a tuna baguette. I dont even know how to describe the food it was exceptional. The portions are large and the quality was extremely high. The ploughman's was enough for 2 people and beautifully presented. The mixed grill was the best had in a very long time and I have never had a tuna baguette with that much filling.nI always add sauce to everything but today it was not needed.nEvery staff member was happy and smiling. I didn't catch the names but high praise for anyone working at 13:30 onwards on 8th October 2025.
The only place open with seats available on New year's day. Didn't expect much when we walked in, but the staff were very friendly. I had the mixed grill which was nice, the portion sizes are very generous whatever you order. There is loads of seating and a decent selection of beers.
