Story

Introducing Milton Keynes Village Practice
The Practice was opened in May 1998 to provide GP services to the expanding areas of Eastern Milton Keynes. It has grown from just one GP to there now being six Doctors and a nurse partner. There is also large team of other professionals and support staff. All are committed to providing patients with a high quality and personal service.

Large Milton Keynes Village Practice

The Surgery
We took occupation of our new purpose built surgery in October 2003. The building has been designed to provide a pleasant and welcoming environment and it is equipped to very high standards. There is a large car park located adjacent to the surgery. Please park considerately to allow maximum use and kindly avoid the spaces reserved for doctors who made need to get in and out in an emergency.

The area nearest the surgery enterance is reserved for disabled patients and for parents with small children. For patients who are disabled there is easy access and all consulting rooms are on the ground floor.

We are pleased to have Jardines Pharmacy incorporating the village Post Office on site. There is also a private dentist in space sub-let by the Primary Care Trust. Please note that these are not under control of the practice and any enquiries should be made directly to Jardines or the dentist.

A Partnership with Patients
We believe that looking after your health must be a partnership between the practice and you the patient. We will try to give you as much information as possible about your condition and where choices of treatment exist to explain these to you. We are now actively seeking to foster the development of a patient participation group. We aim to provide all of our patients with a high quality clinical service in a pleasant and welcoming environment.

Your own Doctor
We operate a personal doctor system. This means that you will normally be seen by your own doctor as we believe that this provides the best continuity of care. If your own doctor is not available you will be informed and told the name of the locum. In all cases however the doctor with whom you are registered will retain overall responsibility for your care. If you wish to change your personal doctor you can request to do so by letter to the Practice Manager.

Patients Responsibilities
We will treat all patients with respect and without prejudice. We request that you behave in the same way towards everyone working in the practice. In common with other parts of the NHS we have a zero tolerance policy towards aggressive or abusive behaviour which is fortunately a very rare occurrence but we wish to keep it that way. Wasted appointments are a major problem throughout the NHS. They waste the valuable time of the professional concerned and deprive other patients of an opportunity to be seen. If you find you cannot keep or no longer need an appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer it to someone else. Patients who repeatedly waste appointments may after warnings be removed from our list.

Practice NHS Contract
Milton Keynes Village Practice is an independent partnership of clinicians providing NHS services in contract with NHS MK & Northamtonshire, Francis Crick House, Summerhouse Road, Moulton Park, Northampton NN3 6BF 01604 651100.

Comments, Suggestions & Complaints
Our aim is to give you the highest possible standard of service both medically and in our organisation. Comments and suggestions are always welcome but if you feel that things have gone wrong we have a Practice Complaints Procedure which is in accordance with NHS standards and available from reception.

Alternatively you may contact NHS England on 0300 311 22 33 or email [email protected]. The information regarding your complaint may need to be shared with the Commissioning Support Units (CSU). If you do not wish to share your information with the CSU, you will need to include this information in your complaint.

Data Collection Scheme
The Practice contributes anonymous patient data to a national database, which is used for healthcare research. The Practice receives training from the company aggregating the data to help improve quality in its computer records. The local research ethics committee has approved the data collection scheme and no patient will be identifiable to anyone outside the practice. If you would like to opt out of this scheme please let your doctor know and no data will be collected from your records or used in research. This will not affect your care in any way.

Booked and appoiment for me and my boyfriend we got there a bit late so the doctor decided to not see us on the day , fair enough. But the lady on the reception blonde short hair was extremly rude she looked very annoyed at every question i was asking . And also she told there was no appoiment for my boyfriend even thought i went there myself to book for both.

I have seen a physiotherapist at this practice and I am very pleased how he helped me. His name is Jagan Gudipati and I can highly recommend him. I first visited a private physiotherapist, but unfortunately the treatment he gave me didn't work (and made the situation even worse). I then sought help via NHS and was refered to see Jagan. He is clearly a very experienced physiotherapist. He established what was the cause of my problem and it took only 2 sessions (and some work at home) to recover. My arm which was in pain is back to normal and I can really appreciate a good specialist making a difference. That's why I wanted to share it here.

I am so happy I moved my family to this practice. Appointments are generally available, they have flexible hours and the GP's make follow-up appointments directly with you, it makes a huge difference. I feel listened to by my allocated GP and the receptionists are really helpful. From what I hear this is one of the best surgeries in MK.
