Sadly when trying to locate my Mother on a welfare check. After calling numerous hospitals, departments. I finally get to AnE. Despite being quiet anxious. It's extremely comforting to have a member of your team, answer abruptly, tell me minimal info and whilst I was responding, they put the phone down on me... The compassion and empathy was so abundant.....Wonderful
Just wanted to say a big thank you to a whole labour ward team for such a wonderful service they provide. The people working there are really dedicated to their professions and provide an amazing service. My pregnant wife was looked after during the labour and after that at Ward 10. They provide a VIP service and there is nothing more you can ask for. The doctors at a labour ward did an outstanding job with C-section for my wife. Especially I would like to say a big thank you to Rachel, Victoria, Jordan, Ellen and Rebecca.
Dad was bought into A& E by two brilliant paramedics Josh and John who were both so understanding and professional. They kept me updated all the time and eased any concerns I had. Once in A& E all the staff were great but Jac stood out as she updated me without me asking - and made us tea! Dad now recovering on Ward 2A and again I can’t fault the staff who are all very professional and caring and have a smile for everyone. I found all the areas we passed through to be clean and tidy and saw that staff were regularly cleaning down equipment. In all a great journey through the hospital system and I look forward to having Dad home with us again soon.
Have been in ward 9 for over 24 hours and I can't thank Catherine enough. Without her we wouldn't have gotten any updates about labour ward or have any examinations done. Thank you very much Catherine 5/4/2024 - 18:54
Got admitted to Ward9 on 16th omg worst ever experience. The 1st midwife Molly who looked after was so unprofessional she came almost after 2 hrs after I arrived, didn't introduce her, didn't know nothing about him. I asked for pain relief around 1pm only got it at 5pm after I complained and she handed m the pain relief with bad attitude, no pt identification not asking m if I got any allergy, normally after a spinal she is supposed to check if my legs are moving now, if I'm passing urine ,but never done none of this, even if the hca go nd tell her I'm asking for pain relief she will ignore it. she will come nd see other pts in the bay nd fully ignore m like I was there for decoration. Wasnt offered lunch even though I came there with a Bm of 4.6mmol i told them im Diabetic on meds , i had to ask the hca if i can get toast after 3 hrs . Dinner time everyone was served nd after the plates were cleared the maternity assistant asked m if h had anything i said no dinner. The maternity assistant was good . I'm just hoping I don't have to go back there anymore. I understand there are understaffed but still basic manners nd care don't cost much time.
5 * to maternity triage department! Absolutely incredible and always willing to help. They always go the extra mile to ensure you and the baby are well and safe. Yes the waiting can be long but definitely worth it to get the peace of mind that everything is ok.
Overall experience has been great. Just yesterday on my 19 weeks scan visit, sonographer Emily took a picture of half body of my baby and handed to me. F ridiculous. I mean who wants a passport size picture of a baby on a scan? How stupid. Just seems to make a business from a photo service. what a waste of money!!!!
I worked here from 2016 to 2022. In 2019 I was admitted due to severe abdominal pain, urgent care suspected appendicitis, was sent to surgical assessment unit who sent me for an ultrasound. Was told my appendix was fine and they suspected gastroenteritis. I was continuously vomiting stomach acid and in intense pain. Went in on the Friday, was admitted to ward 1 via ED. It took until the Monday for the surgical doctors to send me for a CT scan, after that was sent to ward 7 at 2am. The doctor on the ward then said due to some fluid found on the CT scan, they were going to treat me for pelvic Inflammatory disease.. it took 3 days after for the gynae doctors to come and take swabs which I'd already been started on IV antibiotics. Was still struggling to keep stuff down. After 2 weeks, was discharged, back in within 24 hours at ED still vomiting stomach acid. Was then told by a gynae consultant I DONT have pelvic Inflammatory disease and he was referring me to gastro, anyway following on from that it turned out I had chrohns disease and endometriosis which I am now under John Radcliffe hospital for. I loved working at this hospital but as a patient, most of my experiences have been awful.
Thank you to day surgery unit! I was admitted to the unit yesterday and wanted to say a BIG thank you to all staff involved along my journey! Pre op instructions were clear, and a friendly greeting on arrival. Staff were welcoming, and I then met with my consultant, reg, anaethetist etc, who were all friendly and reassuring. Theatre staff were brilliant at putting me at my ease. Thanks to the student nurse in recovery and good luck with the rest of your training. Thank you to Jenice, Ifrah and Grace for your care back on the ward. A 5 star experience!
I had to take my daughter to the blood clinic today. She passes out whether blood being taken or injections. Kady and Lucy we're fantastic. They was very professional, friendly and actually managed to get the blood out. Unfortunately, my daughter still passed out but we all expected it.
