Entered at 415pm on a Saturday and was seen by 7pm. After a week in pure agony with an acute ear infection and my GP only offering an appointment in 3 weeks this service is a blessing. It doesn’t matter if you have to wait. You will be seen and treated with compassion.
The staff are fantastic and working under extremely challenging conditions. The nurse, doctor and receptionist I spoke with were all brilliant, respectful, helpful and kind. The waiting times are sometimes terribly long and I really hope the management support and invest in the service to improve wait times going forward. Thank you UCS & NHS.
Excellent service by the staff. Do you want to wait 3-4 weeks for GP appointment or 3-4hrs for the same? I would prefer Urgent care!
The waiting time is actually very bad where you have to come prepare to stave for over 5 hours, even though I came here around 1.00am early morning. When I get the chance to meet the doctor after waiting 3 hours the doctor said we can’t don any test here you have to got to the A&E. basically I waited their for 3 hours hear that I have to go to A&E not urgent care centre.
4 hours waiting anytime we came here. 3 years old said look what a mess when he saw the chocolate pieces on the floor. Windows are dirty aswell. But ONLY ONE PARENT with any little child.
I don’t know why it is called urgent care because you spend close to 5 hours to see a doctor and the doctor I saw just sat there trivialising my pain, saying it will go away,come back when it gets worse. Seriously, the services rendered is so bad. Shame on them
Went fearing the worst with waiting times but Pearl the triage nurse was true to her name and thought she could glue the deep cut in a couple of minutes to save us the 5 hour wait, which she did. We didn't hold anyone else up and we were in and out in about 20 minutes. Common sense decision which is rare these days for which we are so very, very grateful. Thank you Pearl.
Took my partner there and found that the 2 women behind the desk were very rude especially one of them. Spoke with a real patronising and sarcastic tone of voice. And they have the cheek to put a poster up saying that the staff in there have zero tolerance for abuse. Well maybe if they employed staff who could speak/communicate with people properly. They wouldn't get half as much abuse. Wish I had got her name so i could give her a mention. It's almost like they can talk to you however they want. But you can't say anything back
Service that I thought was meant to alleviate pressure on A&E still had a wait time of 6 hours. The place is under equipped and under staffed and doesn’t have access to scans or other hospital facilities so you can be referred back to A&E for a further wait. Doctor did not prescribe anything after 6 hour wait. Saw our GP 2 days later who prescribed antibiotics and gave a diagnosis. Terrible waste of tax payers money they should have invested into the A&E department and improved their staffing and systems instead of creating this building.
Waited 5 and a half hours from point of arrival including time waiting for a receptionist to stop nattering with the guy on the bookings desk just to see a doctor watching the clock.
