Great food, outstanding customer service and personal touch. Welcomed birthdays and bringing our own cake. Very good with kids too. Steak was so good. We had fillet and ribeye both cooked perfectly. Starters and pudding were also good. They have a menu for children too, good portions. We brought stuff for the kids so I don't know if they have anything, bring your own just in case. Can't fault the experience.

I think things have started to slip a little in Miller & Carter, Salfords. The last few times I have been here the steaks have been a inconsistent in terms of how well cooked each were. During a recent meal with four people we had bistro rump steak ranging from med-rare to well-done and you honestly couldn't tell the difference between each steak. The waitress requested one of the steaks be grilled butterfly and this didn't happen. I've noticed that chips can be lukewarm. I put this down to how they stack the chips potions up ready to be placed on the plate just before service. Nothing wrong with the method, but perhaps turn the heating light up a bit? Also, the salad garnish is much less than it was some months ago and the beef dripping sauce doesn't pack the same punch as it used to. I think that the sauce isn't being reduced as much as previously, I'm not sure. Having said that it remains the best steak sauce I've ever had. The waiting staff remain top-class and it is the best option in town. I'll be back, but I do feel that there is some work to do to get Miller & Carter up to the standards that it sets for itself. Previous review from April / May 2016 below (was 4 stars)... First visit and won't be my last. Opted for the chateaubriand and it was lovely. A few items not available (prawns, vanilla ice cream, something else I can't remember) which they will no doubt fix as they get busier. Staff were good, food was very good and overall I think they are doing well.

Steak very good. Starter beef bon bon very poor no filling one had burst over cooked and salad ?? Chips frozen stealth fries from Belgium Onion fritter cold grill tomato cold. Salad iceberg 1/4 inch water at the bottom of the wooden bowl.

Fantastic place to eat. I thoroughly recommend the mushrooms to start, the fillet steak for the main and the fudge brownie for dessert. Service is absolutely spot on. I even had a special birthday plate for my dessert. The best steak house around by far.

I have not been in there for some months but I have found the the food good and service good.
