Excellent wide choice of food and drink. Had a smashing plate of liver and bacon and fruit crumble and custard was delicious. Service good and friendly. Nothing to grumble about at all. Looking forward to lunch in the quirky garden again this Summer. Thank you.

Great little pub. I like the fact it's kept all its original features rather than being striped out to become a standard gastro pub. I often take friends here when they come visit - the food is good with generous portions, and the open fires add to the traditional atmosphere. Children/ babies aren't allowed inside (they're welcome in the beer garden), which is a shame as it restricts when I can visit, but I understand thats partly due to the open fires. Well worth a visit.

Was in the area w girlfriend & her 2 pet ferrets (tame, on leads; dog-friendly pub!), stopped in for dinner. Friendly staff, good service, tasty food. Friendly locals, too! Great selection of beers & cider (Ashton Press: I approve!) Was a Mon, 6 Nov, busy w locals! Also happened to have live musical group in - v good! A v pleasant surprising experience. Recommended!!
