An amazing place for having a meal. A beautiful church turn to a food market with different kind of foods/drinks.nWe had a tasty pizza and a delicious basque cheesecake. The vide of the place really good, we loved it. We visited on Saturday evening so, it was busy but still managed to to sit and enjoy our little time.
The atmosphere here is second to none. Food here is really good, but expensive. The pizza, steak, and lobster roll are all recommended. All made to order so do prepare to wait a tiny bit. Because it is very popular recommend going slightly before meal times so you can get a seat as it's all free seating. However, one of the main drawing points is the lively atmosphere and environment. Highly recommend if you want to have a little bit of everything.
Mercado Mayfair is one of those rare London experiences that feels both timeless and alive. Set inside the beautifully restored St. Mark’s Church, this 19th-century chapel has been transformed into a bustling food hall without losing any of its soul. Vaulted ceilings, stained glass, and centuries-old stone arches now overlook rows of food stalls, long communal tables, and a constant hum of laughter and conversation.nnBy day, the sunlight filters through the church windows as people gather for artisan coffee, street food, and freshly baked pastries. By night—especially on Fridays, when we went—the space comes alive with live music, cocktails, and an energy that fills every corner. It’s crowded wall to wall, loud, joyful, utterly chaotic, and somehow reverent all at once.nnWhat makes Mercado Mayfair unique is the contrast it holds together: a place once meant for quiet reflection now pulsing with life, culture, and community. You can still feel the history in the stone under your feet, even as a band plays and the scent of global cuisines fills the air. We’ve visited food markets all over, but nothing else comes close to this—a cathedral of flavor, sound, and human connection right in the heart of London.nnPurely from a food standpoint—we loved the pizza place so much both five cheese and truffle mushroom that we had to return I’m the following Sunday for a second round. The Hefeweizen helped wash it down. Kids loved the gelato. I was happy they also made affogato. Be prepared to pounce and fight your way to freshly emptied seats and all will be well.
Excellent place!nnRandomly stumbled across it and very glad I did. Across multiple floors in a church you will find a great food hall.nnPlenty of different cuisines to try, enjoyed having a few different starters and a main. I honestly could have eaten here all day.nnNice to find there was a rooftop for the good weather. Plenty of different bars aswell for drinks.nnHighly recommend a visit for something different in Mayfair.
Worth a visit but the food is better at other markets, such as Portabello or Borough.nnFor a gluten free offering, I had the GF curry upstairs. It was ok. My husband said the pasta was Nothing to write home about. My mom barely ate her pizza.nnIf I weren’t celiac, I would have tried the foccacia.nnFrom above, it looked like everyone was eating pizza or Udon noodles.nnIt’s nice to go upstairs and look from above. The church building atmosphere is so cool, as it always is in these revised spaces.nnDon’t forget to check out Daunt Bookshop Mayfair -the upstairs is awesome, and that’s the trendy book bag to carry.nnAnd the Handel Hendrix House is nearby and worth an hour of your time, especially if you call or look online to visit during Guitar Day or when the volunteers are playing the harpsichords.nnSometimes there are events at Grosvenor Square, too.
