I thoroughly recommend Meadow Lane vets practice. All the staff are professional, very caring. and helpful. We have been with them for many years. Recently had an ahc document for travel, expensive but less than some vets charge, now needed due to brexit regulations. Hope we don't need to use them for anything more serious, but have every confidence in them if we do.
Meadow Lane Vets owner response to my review…… a day ago The first cat was brought in Aug 2020 with 2 claws grown into pad so this is why it bled. The second cat was brought in Aug 2023 after had been limping for a week. It was seen twice during Aug at a total cost of £ 96.29 and hasn't been seen since. In the last 12 months this person has spent a total of £110.29 which includes the treatment detailed above an 2 Nail clips at £7 each time. Shirley Horner responded and corrected the facts as following ……… You have been very selective with your response……..the first cat was brought in in Feb 2020 with a claw which had grown backwards and was treated. Since then we regularly have the claws clipped. It was the 20th August when the vet cut her paw and it bled! Our 2nd cat was brought in during April and had you gone back 13months approx you will have seen a bill for £376.91 so we actually paid you £487. I would not leave any of my cats limping for 1 week. I will not respond to any more comments as I know what happened and so do you. 7th April £62.79 and £120 5th April £45.67 14th April £148.45 Regards ‘THIS LADY ‘ Only given 1 star because I cannot post without a rating I have used this practice for 40 years but not any longer. The first instance I write about was my then 17 year old cat needed her claws clipped during the covid period. They fetched my cat from the car park and took her inside. I was then faced with one of the senior vets Jenny who said they would have to sedate my cat as she was angry my cat had bitten one of her staff. Jenny then said she would finish the job herself even though she was allergic to cats. Jenny then bought my cat out and said there was blood coming out of her paw as the nurse had cut her paw. I think if they cut my foot I would probably bite them. The next occurrence was when my long haired ginger cat who is a lad about town had what I thought was an infection, he had had a couple of infections, mainly from a bite on his paw, whilst gadding about. The vet took him to the back room and came back telling me he had a lump in his abdomen and would have to scan him and shave all the fur off his tummy. They then told me the lump was his bladder ….. seriously! Anyway back to the infection they took bloods shaving his leg and would ring me to let me know. Guess what he had an infection!!! So antibiotics and another return visit. The whole episode cost ME best part of £450 for an infection. I really did not want to go back there and spent a lot of time trying to decide which vet I should go to. Thankfully I then found out that Nick Bartlett ex meadowlane vets had opened a new surgery and immediately registered all 3 of my cats with his practice Phoenix vets. Phew…….
Super friendly and knowledgeable, answering all my questions about my new arrived dogs from Canada. My dogs where happy going as well, which is a great sign.
My boy had been at meadow Lane for seven years over the last 12 months i gont no support. over Christmas My boy became very ill and the wasn't inttdrsed on helping him because I couldn't afford the billl. Clearly a profit company now. Whilst having to wait to get an appointment at another vet 10 days his illnesses where Tom rapidly and the other vets couldn't save him he had to be put to sleep today. If you care about your pets and you think there family as my boy was to me do not register with meadow Lane
We took our dog Max to be sent to Doggie heaven, the staff couldn't have been nicer, upon arrival the receptionist could see we were all upset, and. Found us a private room immediately. The vet came in and explained the whole procedure and was so kind. They made the whole sad event as bearable as it could be. They didn't rush us out after Max had passed, and left us as long as we needed to say our final goodbyes. Thank you to all the all the staff for everything.
This is a long overdue review, and where do I begin? I had been to two other veterinary practices before joining Meadow Lane and it was by far the best decision. A previous vet from a different practice gave my young dog a prognosis of 3 months to live due to a rare gastrointestinal condition, we came to Meadow Lane because we wanted to give our dog the best shot and find a practice that would work with us to provide the best care for as long as possible. Thankfully, my dog is still here, over 18 months later and living her very best life; it would not be possible without the care provided by Jenny and all of the wonderful staff at Meadow Lane Veterinary Centre. Jenny had to drain my dog during lockdown, she spent over 2.5 hours manually removing 6 litres of fluid from her abdomen. The two other veterinary practices had refused to do this and what became apparent in that moment is that Meadow Lane simply care for the well-being of our pets, above all else. Not once have they recommended euthanasia or told us to prepare for the worse, actually they have been our glimmer of hope in an otherwise bleak situation. I have since had 2 of my neighbours complain about our previous vet Cockburns in Coalville and they have subsequently been referred to Meadow Lane. They cannot praise them enough either. Thank you so much. Your service is worth every penny and more. The 1st image is taken from March/April 2020, before and after Coco had her abdomen drained. The 2nd and 3rd images show her now.
I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff I seen esp with my dog ebony . Unfortunately she reached end of life . The support I got was lovely not rushed and went over the odds to put me at ease and support . Thank you all
We find this vets amazing and wouldn't take our pets anywhere else
Always helpful, always friendly. I have used them for years. Recommended. UPDATE Sept 2023 - No longer a five star review. I have been a customer here for years and in the last few months have seen a decline in the level of service. I am no longer seen on time and have had to wait up to an hour! I am busy and expect to be seen within a reasonable time if I have booked an appointment. People pay enough and waiting up to an hour is not acceptable. Also, I have found some of the current vets disengaged, abrupt, pushy maybe trying to get more money out of me, preoccupied and obviously very busy. We're all very busy! We bring our animals to you because we love them and care about them and we expect a certain level of engagement and professionalism. The place seems chaotic and disorganised even when there aren't many people in the waiting room. I am sad that I had to change my review from five to two stars and as a loyal customer, I really hope to see some improvements soon.
Really friendly staff and vet was so good with my nervous dog ,highly recommend.
