Had a lovely lunch at The Masons Arms this week. Lady who met us on arrival was super friendly and helpful. Let us sit in quiet part of pub, although it hadn't been set up for dining, so we could chat and even turned the music right down. Gave us plenty of time to order, checked availablity and adjusted to our preferences. We had a lovely relaxing time, catching up with relatives we hadn't seen for 4 years and enjoyed our food.
Went here today for lunch and the 4 of us and our labrador and were all very impressed. Staff MIA and Anna were very attentive and made us feel like part of the family and had a good laugh with us. Food was very good value and home made, I had the pie which was great and really homemade, plus we had schnitzel, fish cakes and haddock all cooked perfectly and no complaints. This is a really well run, friendly pub that serves good home cooked food. I think the negative comments are not a fair representation of the Mason so ignore! Thanks Team Mason we will be back!!
Called ahead to see if I could stay in the carpark overnight. Nothing was too much trouble great selection of beers and spirts. Also food was lovely and will definitely be back . The staff and land lady made me feel very welcome
Lovely little pub with cracking food, plenty of drink and friendly pleasant staff, I was working nearby and stopped off here for a couple of hours of chill time, plenty of room inside the bar with some fantastic comfy chairs to sit inService: 5/5

Could not fault this place at all. The staff are so friendly and make you feel most welcome. We both had the mixed grill and it was amazing. Large portions at very reasonable prices. It was our first time here even though we don't live that far away but will definitely be returning
Took a wrong turn & found this place. What a happy accident. Best food of our holiday. Best mixed grill in a long time - so tasty with a peppercorn crust on perfectly cooked meat. Burgers & chips tasty & well presented. Sevice excellent even double checking order wasn't due to allergies it was due to fussiness. You can tell this nice looking pub has atmosphere. Best to book as so good. Will come again.
We had a really lovely evening out at the Masons last week. The steak pie was amazing, really meaty and my partner had the Cambodian curry, he said the meat was really tender and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff on shift were all friendly and there was no waiting around for drinks or service. On the whole we had a nice experience. Not too sure why so many bad reviews, we have friends who regularly eat here and they were the ones who recommended it to us. Maybe people just need to be kinder to the people trying to keep the pub trade going. We’ll definitely be back again. Thank you all for a pleasant evening oh and for the brownie… lush!
