What a fantastic chippie. As we entered the staff were not only disinfecting the table tops but also the chairs including the legs and backrests. The food is of an excellent quality and very large portions. The cod was cooked to perfection and the batter beautifully crispy. The hot chilli burger was the best I've had in a long time. The chips were cooked to perfection. The toilets were spotlessly clean. As for the staff, they are a lovely, friendly bunch and made us feel very welcome.8/1/22
This is a 5* review if you know what you're getting. This is a proper old school chippy. Huge portions, fairly priced and lots of traditional desserts too like Jam Roly Poly. If you want a classic chip shop experience then this place is highly recommended.
We just stopped by luck as it was 13.00 and we were hungry. Well we very happy lovely clean restaurant very helpful and cheerful staff and you weren't crammed in. The portions were huge and all well cooked and presented. I never give many 5* ratings but they all deserve this one. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Lovely friendly lady serving but the chips were SO dry really disappointing. I couldn’t eat them all. It felt quite unwelcoming too with the Covid screen still in place.

This chip shop is the best chip shop i have ever been to, me and a friend always call in on are way to Weymouth from Bristol when we go fishing and the shop is open, on the 04/02/2023 we stopped for food at Whitston's, I entered the shop and asked if i could have two battered sausage, one battered sausage and a tub of curry sauce, also i asked if i could have a large bag of chips split in two, as me and my friend didn't want a large bag each, a female assistant working at the fryers heard my request and shouted out to me we don;t split large chips any more, i informed her that it was not a complicated request and to cancel my order, her attitude may stop me from ever going in there again, so for quality of food 200% and for customer service minus 500%
In my opinion, not as good as it used to be. Chips seemed to be rushed, slightly under cooked/pale. Prices are average now, due to increases. I won't be going back.Food: 4/5
I cannot really mark atmosphere as I took food away. Our second fish and chip meal with the bath and west steam railway. We had a large party for a late club night so a large order. Fish and batter fantastic. It said small piece of fish which was huge. Still crisp when we got back. Food served really quickly given the number of us and it took 4 of them to bring it out. No wonder they are busy. Well done them. Good good highly enjoyable night.
