I want to share my experience as a long term anxiety sufferer I ordered my medication as normal through patient access. Only to receive a rejection text from the surgery. I rang up the surgery to find out why and was told I needed to get a review but the next available appointment was 2 weeks away. I explained that I did not have enough medication to last that long and was told by reception that she would put me through to pharmacy however she just put me through to an automated answer machine where I couldn't speak to anyone. This is a really poor customer experience especially for a person who has an anxiety disorder
First time at this GP and the doctor I saw was amazing. So understanding and listened to me properly. Felt very welcome and comfortable. Would recommend and so glad I’ve joined this practice.
Concerning-I have alway been able to get an appointment with no issues but when trying to get an appointment today I was told that nothing was available until at least the end of September, nearly 6 weeks away. The practice now has over 20,000 patients and I suspect they have taken on too many as this delay can’t be blamed on covid etc. The receptionist tried her best but the practice just doesn’t have the capacity to help me or other patients. *update, I was called and this resolved so thank you but it concerns me at having to complain the resolve this, so many more vulnerable people would accept the poor service and suffer in silence. I’m advised this issue won’t occur again, I hope this is the case
I have been a patient at this surgery for a very long time, and never had any problems until now. I took poorly with a bad chest in November, I called to explain my concerns and was told there was nothing available until 6th Dec, I accepted the appointment but unfortunately on the day of appointment I had to cancel as my chest deteriated and ended up short of breathe. I also needed my repeat prescription of HRT, I needed to make an appointment yet again with a nurse for 3rd Jan 2023, by this time I had no HRT in my system for 5 weeks, yes I had run out of it, but I was very poorly with my chest. So went this morning to see the nurse for my HRT which has been 7 weeks without it now, for someone to come over to me to say they had to send the nurse in question home poorly, and cancelled my appointment, I understand nhs staff get poorly aswell, but surely there was a nurse on shift who could of done my blood pressure to repeat my HRT, nope there wasn't any available apparently. So they've made me another appointment for the 9th Jan, this is not good enough, yes I get it, it's not a priority to the staff, but it is, to me ,as my family are on the receiving end of my bad mood swings and everything else that comes with the menopause. This is not acceptable, i feel very let down by the medical centre, and my family have to endure yet another week or so of my mood swings, which is not my fault at all.
Needed urgent treatment whilst in the local area away from home. Triaged rapidly and prescription sorted. Fab team from admin to clinical staff
Repeat prescription. Ordered 3 working days and not at pharmacy. 10 minutes waiting to speak and hasn't been ordered. This system does work occasionally.
To put it simply, medical gaslighters. Take it as you will. i left the surgery after being removed from their list for reporting the disgusting treatment, had to tell the GMC as the practice manager clearly couldn’t give the slightest shred of empathy in the world. her and the doctor left me to cry in pain in silence and said nothing as i walked out, they even encouraged me to go elsewhere! doctors consistently told me there was nothing wrong even though there was because the mediocre baseline testing they did was not conclusive. i will not mention his name but he was the most horrible person i have ever spoken to and how he ever became a doctor, i will never know. i was brushed off as having mental health issues for over a year when i was actually suffering from chronic health conditions which were diagnosed last year and this year, and i still receive ongoing treatment from elsewhere. i live with chronic pain every day and fatigue yet was told it was normal. i was vomiting after eating and having swallowing problems, and episodes of tachycardia, yet was told because of my age that it was mental health and that the symptoms were made up. i attended the surgery in an episode of tachycardia where the on duty doctor told me I was having a panic attack while my heart rate was clearly extremely high and I was struggling to breathe. This experience has contributed to the C-PTSD I have now been diagnosed with. I went to A&E after being told I was fine and had mental health issues and they immediately rushed me in and gave me fluids and medication in IV, I dread to think what would have happened otherwise. The doctor in A&E was horrified to see what he said. She actually wrote a letter to him saying that he had a duty to refer me for treatment that I urgently needed and that she would report him to the GMC for negligence if he didn’t. He sighed at me and said fine, and hung up. He also called my consultants at the hospital and told them I was lying about the issues I had and that I was mentally ill and that nothing was wrong, later tests showed the opposite of that. I told the doctor I had a lump in my neck and he refused to even look at it because I ‘have mental health issues’ when this very possibly could have been cancerous. AVOID at all costs if you are chronically ill, you will be gaslit and they’ll practically lead you for death because the blood test they did is obviously a fully conclusive diagnosis of the fact you are a liar of course. if you make multiple calls for help because you need it and they don’t listen, they will call you a nuisance and restrict how often you can speak to them. amazing! if you need a good GP practice, Farnham medical centre is the way forwards, they actually listen to you and refer you for the diagnostic tests you need. I genuinely think I would have given my life up if it wasn’t for them because I was sick of suffering, I finally have the diagnosis and looking into treatments, and things are looking up. Special mention to the Asthma nurses, and Dr Chan, who were lovely with the limited things they could do because of the other lousy doctor. PS: It’s very convenient that the practice have ‘lost my medical records’ probably because they know it would provide evidence to the negligent ways they treated me.
.my wife just tried to make appointment after getting txt to book 1 was told would be a month before get 1. Discusting we are thing of finding new doctor what a waste of time marston road is Thanks for your reply surely u know my wifes condition. Still dont agree should be a month before appointment
Many thanks for all the help over the holidays. Am aware how busy the surgery must be but the reception staff are so helpful and understanding. The Doctors and Nurses do an outstanding job and at the moment probably under extreme pressure, Dr Chen in particular listens and explains thank you.
Absolutely brilliant, really caring reception staff, very thorough doctors. Would totally recommend to anyone.
