Awesome local Chinese. Extremely authentic food, always fresh, always hot but most importantly it’s always delicious. Only thing they could change is the chicken balls, make them less doughy. Prices have gone up which is disappointing but we understand why.
My friend ordered from this place a little while ago when they came to Saxmundham for a short holiday and they highly recommended Mandarin House, so I ordered from here for the first time while I am here. The chefs were extremely kind and accommodating to all our requests. All the portions sizes were big, tasted very authentic and the price for everything that we had ordered was not expensive at all! The friendly man who served us was also kind enough to recommend what we could do and explore in the area. This Chinese take-away really made me feel welcomed as someone who has never been to Saxmundham before, Mandarin House is definitely a great asset to this small town. Was told that they have been here for 26 years and I can tell why they have been around for so long. I will be coming again next time I'm here, and I will also be recommending this place to my friends in London. A huge thank you to the lovely man at the front and the chefs for our lovely dinner and the friendly experience.
1 star is too many. Disgrace of a 'Chinese takeaway'. We had high hopes after reading previous reviews but they must be written by the owners as this was repulsive and I cannot stress that enough. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!nThey somehow managed to burn chicken curry which tasted like a rat burger, black pieces of chicken, burnt onions, burnt carrots weird, and even plain white rice was crunchy. The prawn crackers even had black bits. Every sauce was like spicy water, the spring rolls tasted like pure dirt and chow mein was also burnt. Tried to have a civilised conversation and request some money back for the worst items but the person on the phone was extremely rude and demanded the food back in the containers for a refund but obviously we had plated our food up in order to taste it! Totally unacceptable, never had an experience this bad, we have chinese takeaway all the time and never come across such shocking service. Its now in the bin, best place for it. Should hang their heads in shame offending chinese food in this way!!
Cannot fault the service. Ok it was Monday night but the food was ready at exactly the time ordered and the order was exactly as requested. The food was very good, great value and good portions. Would give my custom again without hesitation the next time that I am in the area.
Really disappointed. Took a very long time to make our food whilst jumping their local friends ahead of us in the que. 2 people walked in together. They served one order and then made the pair of us wait 10 minutes more before serving the other order by which time the first order was ruined.nI had to cut all the spring onions for the duck myself as they had been left nearly whole. My crispy chilli beef felt like it was cooked in the 1980s and lost any crispiness many many days ago. I asked for thin Singapore noodles and was served an egg noodle chow mein. The prawn curry was basically just a gravy not a hint of spices. Wish I could be nicer but this food was awful.
