I liked the waiting room at this station, provides good charging points for your devices. My phone battery was out first time I arrived here, so it helped, since there was no charging points on the Northern train I traveled with.
The waiting room inside the station is nice and warm, has chargers, seats and booksnthe bathroom was not great, the womens one. one of the toilet bins was overflowing. there are 3 sinks, 2 of them have signs saying not working, and the 3rd has barely any water. just told to use hand sanitizer. ultimately, it does its job as a bathroom, you can do your business and leave. but a good bathroom, not really?
Rail replacement buses don't depart from the station despite there being plenty of room in front of the station. There is no signage saying where the bus will be found.
Seems well run and with decent facilities, but a bit run down and in need of some tlc- the waiting rooms were closed and there was a bit of a grotty feel to the place. On the plus side it has good signage, okay toilets and a water refill station. Plus the little Costa in the station looked nice, but closed at 5pm on Sundays which feels a bit early for a city centre station.
