Went to visit this store today to search for a new baby car seat and base. Plenty of options and styles available as well as promotional offers on travel bundles. A special thanks to Destini for walking me through the entire range, answering all my questions and even assisting with test fitting the base and seat in the car.
Really lovely selection however we were really really disappointed as we noticed staff members go over to every other couple/mother and daughter in the store 3 other couples - store was quiet and ask if they needed assistance. We were looking for a while in the store and spent a while looking at prams as we are looking to buy a pram system.nWe are a homosexual couple and can’t help but think this was a factor in why we were ignored. Really disappointed as I wanted to get excited about prams and try a few. The pram we want is a mamas and papa’s branded pram but I think we’ll go to a different store to try it.
Absolutely wonderful store to visit. The store is laid out beautifully, really felt at ease in the surroundings. We had booked an appointment with the team and had the fortune of having Sue. She was exceptional, she put us at ease, didn't over complicate anything, gave us some honest and practical advice and was patient with us. It was a privilege to be assisted by her. Her experience and knowledge was really helpful. You can tell the team take pride in the store, it's a great place to visit as expectant parents.
We had a very good experience buying a car seat at Mamas & Papas today. Angela was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and took the time to show us several models that would suit our needs.nnWe previously had the Maxi-Cosi Pebble with an i-Size ISOFIX base and were initially looking for a car seat that would be compatible with the same base. However, after Angela explained the different options and showed us the available models, we ultimately decided to buy a different car seat with a new base that would last much longer — up to 12 years of age.nnThe price was £299, and although there was no discount in store, we were told that Mamas & Papas would be happy to match the price if we found it cheaper elsewhere. After a quick Google search, we found a few other stores selling it for £230 on promotion. After checking, Angela confirmed that it was eligible for price matching.nnAngela also showed us how to make sure the car seat was fitted properly and seatbelt fastened securely, which was very reassuring. Overall, we were very pleased with the service and really appreciated Angela’s patience, expertise, and honest advice.
We collected a Joie Serina 2-in-1 swing and set it up at home to test. When dismantling it, it took two people almost ten minutes to pull apart. We returned it and staff agreed it was faulty. The manager even commented she didn’t know how it passed quality control.nnWe ordered a replacement in a different colour as the original was out of stock. On opening the box, it had an awful smell and had the same issue with the base not connecting properly. This meant another 40 minute trip back to Mamas & Papas. The manager suggested we look at a different model instead.nnWhile browsing, we noticed the first faulty swing was being resold as an “ex display” item with £10 added to the price we’d paid. A couple was about to buy it so we warned them of the issue and they chose not to purchase. After that the manager’s attitude changed completely.nnOnce we picked another swing, she refused to price match, saying the £30 difference was too much and claimed the items weren’t faulty just “not meant to be dismantled.” We received no apology and were made to feel at fault. Due to the poor service and manager’s attitude, we decided to cancel our full order including the travel system and will not be shopping at Mamas & Papas again.
