We got married in The Maldron hotel at the weekend, I cannot recommend and thank Sheree and the team enough for the amazing day that we have had. Everything was just perfect, and Sheree was just a pleasure to work with and nothing was ever a problem.nThe room set up was just amazing, and the food just fabulous all out guests had a great day also, and couldn't compliment the running of the day or staff enough.nI would highly recommend The Maldron for weddings, We just had the most magical day and Sheree just put us at ease and kept us calm and communication was amazing. I cannot thank you all enough for making our day so special, Sheree is just worth her weight in gold
Can't comment on the individual rooms as I wasn't staying in one...nHowever the proximity to the centre of the City and relative convenience to more than one car park which are very fairly priced.nThe Hotel staff are friendly and accommodating and the function room was more than capable of catering for the wedding I attended and everything was well presented...nThe food was of a very high standard indeed and there was no indication of being rushed from one course to the next...nThe Bar staff were good and a decent range of beverages available... Prices were quite reasonable given it is in the City and You shouldn't feel that You need to pay special attention to spending here...nThere was plenty of seating within the bar lounge and foyer to accommodate everyone prior to and directly after the wedding service and I enjoyed my day very much ...nDefinitely recommended...
I can only comment on the diningroom. My partner and l had dinner here one night. The waitress was very friendly and super efficient. Despite the place being very busy, the service was very good. Dinner was lovely. Would definitely recommend.
The hotel was clean and adequate, good location. But the customer service and attitude of the staff was so poor.nn1. We booked a group of 12 months ago at the flexi rate to allow cancellation and to pay on arrival. Despite that, the revenue manager of the hotel was emailing me weeks ago asking for payment upfront.nn2. On arrival, we were told we needed to pay security deposits IN CASH. This was 400 GBB to cover 'damage and noise' . Credit card not accepted for this. If a room was to be accidentality damaged then I would assume you would have insurance for this, so asking for 400 in cash as a security deposit - on top of the 2,200 GBP already paid, felt unfair. The assumption of distrust on the part of the hotel was not what we would expect. There was nothing in the booking terms and conditions about paying a cash security on arrival.nn3. Someone broke into my room. I reported this to reception when I arrived back on the first evening, and followed it up with reception the following day. It seems my door was not locking properly and a random person managed to get access. Given the assumed distrust of me and my party and why we were asked for a 400 GBP cash security deposit, it's somewhat ironic that someone was allowed to walk freely into my room.nn4. Our party was leaving at different times on checkout, but reception would only give back the security deposits once everyone had checked out. After a bit of discussion with reception some of the cash deposits were eventually returned for those leaving early - but again this inflexibility did not make us feel welcomed nor valued.nnI also noticed that not every guest required to provide a cash security deposit, so I do question why this was asked of our party. I can only assume our party was profiled as troublemakers....nnDespite this poor experience, I would like to highlight the support of the receptionist on the Saturday morning who helped me with my room break-in. I don't recall her name, but she was pregnant. Kudos to her.nnOverall, the treatment of our party assuming that we would damage the hotel/cause a nuisance - and demand cash deposits from us - is not how I would be expected to be treated in any hotel. We already paid thousands of pounds for the hotel. And then: the irony of then the hotel allowing someone to break into my room... I mean, come on.
Myself, my brother and my mom stayed in the hotel last weekend and I just wanted to give a mention to how amazing the staff are! I spoke with April from the moment we arrived and she honestly couldn't have been more enthusiastic and friendly an excellent edition to their team in my opinion! When checking out I met Michelle who was just as enthusiastic and a great chat! Would highly recommend the hotel specifically for their wonderful staff!
