Stunning! Can't recommend enough! All staff were so lovely to talk to and so helpful! I'm horrible with names I think it was Sophie that checked myself and my boyfriend in and she was so smiley and just lovely to chat to. The room was amazing and the food and drinks were lovely! Definitely will be back and so happy we chose to go here. Was an amazing and relaxing time.
Perfect location. Easy free parking in lower garage onsite. Helpful friendly staff. Nice breakfast which includes many options. I was lucky I had a room on the fourth floor, which overlooked the peace bridge and wonderful views. The room was spacious and had a separate sitting room, large bathroom with a deep bathtub. It was quiet, even though it was on the main street I would highly recommend for the price and location alone.
Excellent service received at City Hotel. We were upgraded rooms and the renovations have been beautifully done. When a medical emergency arose the staff went above and beyond...they were all amazing! I would highly recommend the hotel. We have stayed before and will be back again....it's our go to hotel in Derry!
The best thing about this hotel is where it is located within walking distance of the city centre. We had booked for two nights and on arrival the hotel car park was full we had to park in the shopping centre car park at a cost of £12 overnight. We got parking in the hotel car park the second night.nThe room was spacious but dark and dusty the cup's and saucers on the tray were dirty.nThe evening meal was terrible the soup was lukewarm and the chicken was like rubber and couldn't eat it and the stake was tough. I said to the waiter about the chicken he just lifted the plates and walked off, I also said to the girl at the till when I went to pay for the steak supplement and our drinks, she said I should have sent it back but still charged for the extras. We went into the lobby there was a band playing and a lot of waiters walking about but we sat age's before anyone came near us to take an order for drinks. There doesn't seem to be any management overseeing what the floor staff are doing or not doing such as clearing empty glasses and bottles off the table.nWe had breakfast both mornings which was horrendous it's self service even though a lot of waitresses walking about not paying attention to what is missing from the breakfast area. We had to ask for orange juice as the jugs were sitting empty, the cereal bowls were all gritty half washed and had to pick through them to get clean one's.nThen had to ask for bacon, sausage and beans and a queue of people waiting.nThe second morning was no better even had to ask for plates and bacon, eggs and bread for toast.nWe decided to have food from the bar menu the second evening after a long wait a waiter came and took our ordered. The drinks and cutlery were left on the table and we waited for ages for the food then could only eat the baguette and chips as the steak in the sandwich was so tough to be told by a waiter that is what the steak is like as its overcooked.nThe music in the lobby both nights was brilliant and the cobwebs on the curtains above the band and at the top of the door were dancing to the music.nWe were told when checking out that there will be big change they are doing a big renovation.nWe honestly don't know how this is classed as a 4 star hotel.
Staff were wonderful. Food was very very good. Just a pity it rained for the 3 days we were there. But the hotel couldn't fix that.
