Truly majestic because of the 'caviste' . He knew every grape & village in Europe. Even knew that there had been hailstorm damage to crops in Loire Valley this year verified . Exceptional knowledge which leads to getting customers with no knowledge exactly what they fancy . Amazing.
I usually buy from them in different stores, Bath road, Cardiff and even Calais, but a I am a bit disappointed with the Portishead branch as they closed earlier on a Sunday because of a football match. All ok with doing so, but please think about your clients who may travel to your store to just find out you closed earlier when you supposed to be opened. You can tell your customers you will be closed by modifying your opening hours in google maps, so that we don't spend time and fuel.
I had a phone call with someone last week about a part-time role and was told I would get another call back from the manager on Monday or Tuesday this week. I have had no contact, despite me trying to get in touch to see if the role was still available. If this is how they treat potential candidates, I dread to think how they treat customers. Absolute lack of respect, it takes 2 minutes to write an email / text.

The shop has an extensive range of wines, spirits and beers at reasonable prices. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Free parking is available right outside the door.
During this pandemic, I can't thank all the staff enough. I am a front line worker, I phone them one day and they deliver the next. Amazing service.
