Appalling service, today whilst shopping I popped in to check if the Discarded Rum was in stock as it tends to fly off the shelf, I was in luck or so I thought as there was one last bottle available at £38.nAs it had a security tag on and it was the only item I had I went to the usually staffed counters by the self check outs. Unfortunately no staff were present at the counter apart from one staff member nearby at the self check outs. However she was more interested in sorting out her social life in conversation with a friend, clearly oblivious of anyone around her.nIt took her friend who was facing me to point out that I had been waiting patiently.nUnfortunately for me she had more to say to her friend and continued to ignore me, her friend pointed out me again. Yes it was annoying, I am very patient but she pushed it further when she said she's coming in a few moments and then continued her conversation.nEnough is enough, that's just plain rude. I left the bottle on the counter and proceeded to walk out, It was only then she returned to the counter and even tried to catch my attention by saying do I not want the bottle?!nIn these days of being reminded that abuse will not be tolerated by staff members and rightly so, it would be nice if staff members could show some respect to customers who are spending money at their establishment.nDefinitely not what I expect at any shop, come on Waitrose standards like this lead to only one outcome, I for one will just take my business elsewhere. It's a Friday, the sun is out and I'm in a happy mood but under no circumstances is this level of service acceptable.nAnd I'd like to remove the 1 star.
The staff here are always friendly and welcoming. They have a great cafe with booths for a bit more privacy, and they have clean working toilets. Unfortunately, most things are overpriced, and sometimes you feel they are taking advantage of their regular customers by charging too much for products that are much cheaper elsewhere and for those products you are best shopping elsewhere.
Today myself and my sister in law went into Waitrose to visit there cafe, we bought ourselves a drink so we could sit down and feed our babies. Once we were done, we slowly with our pushchairs walked down the store towards the exit, to which my sister in law so a family member she wanted to stop and talk to.nTherefor she stopped walking and I slowly headed to the exit, to of which then I was stopped in the middle of the exit/ entrance of the store infront of many members of the public and staff members, by the security guard, he went on to tell me he had watched me steal some sun cream from Waitrose! I told him, no I haven’t, and you have not seen me steal anything. I have came into the supermarket to use your cafe and then left after doing so. He went on to insist he had watched me steal some sun cream, then what I’m assuming is to be the manager, came walking over to me with a body camera on and explained the same thing, I had been seen stealing sun cream this is all happening very publicly infront of everyone, I told him none of my items under my pushchair are from your store and if you have been watching me so closely then you would know that. The manager asked me to show the sun cream, so I picked it up from beneath my pushchair and showed him, it was Lidl own brand sun cream!! Of course he then apologised and said we’ve had lots of theft recently, I said this is absolutely ridiculous you have all just said you saw me steal this, when very clearly this isn’t from your store. I also went on to tell him that this lovely security guard follows and intimidates me and my baby around Waitrose store everytime we come in. I feel highly embarrassed, intimidated and humiliated by the security and manager in Waitrose from my experience today!
Me and my 2 year old son walked over to this store to collect a prescription only to be greeted with the Lloyds pharmacy being closed. I walked over to the self checkout section and I was approached by two ladies by the names of Trudi and Kay. They both discussed the recent opening time complications and then proceeded to take my son along to the sweet section and purchased some dairy milk buttons out of their own money from the kindness of their own hearts. They then have me a time to call back later that would be better. Very pleased with the staff that day! Very kind.
Shocking service, they leave the kiosk unmanned and expect you to wait for one of thiyre staff to notice you.. all of which are clearly oblivious. After 20 minutes of waiting to be served and being ignored in favor of a conversation about local flowers i walked out. Honestly the staff are oblivious. Wont bother next time
