Great location, spacious car park with electric vehicle charging points, good service with friendly staff. The rooms are nicely decorated with sufficient amenities and clean as expected. If my room was slightly bigger it would be perfect. Communal areas are stylish and classy. The only aspect I would expect to be better is the breakfast as the buffet should be enhanced and espresso coffee should not be an extra charge in my opinion. Also it was easier to get juice at breakfast than water... Generally quite satisfied and would visit again.
Excellent location, the staff are welcoming and the service is really good. I love seeing all the seating areas in different places and the outdoor garden area looks cute. The rooms are a little small but nonetheless are comfortable, clean and well-equipped. They offer a complimentary spin around the city in one of their rather posh Bentleys! Free parking to! Walkability: Literally in the city centre and just a couple minutes walk from the main shopping areas.
A mixed experience The staff are friendly and very pleasant. We booked because it seemed really pleasant online and had electric charging which is really useful as we travelled far. Breakfast options were good, continental options and full English you can help yourself too. I was really disappointed with our room, which looked abit like a premier Inn room and didn't match the feel of the hotel. We had small camp beds for the kids which I thought was great. But was not told these would cost me extra, that was just added to our bill. Breakfast I thought was fairly priced for adults but I thought was steep for a 1 yr old and 3 yr old to be charged as adults. The electric charging did not work! And throughout the night stopped charging as if it was faulty. We weren't sure if the reception had turned the charging off at night , but I did ask they said apparently it trips?! Over all we don't think the price was worth the experience and although the place is beautiful we probably won't visit again.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Maids Head Hotel in Norwich and I must say, it was an excellent experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with friendly and helpful staff who made us feel right at home. Our room was comfortable and well-appointed, with all the amenities we needed to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. But, the real highlight of our stay was the food. The hotel's restaurant, The WinePress, serves some of the best cuisine I've had the pleasure of tasting. The menu features a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes, and the quality of the food was simply outstanding. Whether we were indulging in a delicious breakfast, a hearty lunch, or a sumptuous dinner, the food was always cooked to perfection.
Came for our works Xmas party today we were a group of over 30. All the food was lovely, but the staff were all great. One chap I think his name was Chris really was fab. Looked after us really well and was very professional...he kept checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. And was really good humoured, even though, with such a big crowd it was a touch loud at times. Great food, great service all around.
We stayed and dined here for our boat club event. A most splendid choice. Clean and spacious room, professional staff, delicious food. The dinner choice was chicken and salmon. Chicken was the most popular choice. Salmon was delicious with ratatouille - an unusual combination but worked superbly. Very good breakfast too with plenty of comfort and healthy choices. Highly recommended. There are even two classic Bentley cars for complimentary spins.
The Maid's Head Hotel was the most pleasant hotel we've ever stayed at. It is in the heart of Tombland and walking distance to so many historic sites. The staff was always accomodating and kind. The bowl of fruit I had ordered was fresh and tasty, and a nice touch after a long day of traveling. Such history in Norwich and the Maid's Head Hotel has seen it's share over the centuries. Quite simply, we loved our stay!
Four ladies celebrating a friends 60th Birthday. Great atmosphere in the hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Plenty of places to just sit and relax, eat and drink. Rooms were well appointed with all mod cons and tastefully decorated. A big hit was the complimentary vintage Bentley drive around Norwich. Matthew, our driver from the hotel, took us past several landmarks pointing out places of interest - a 5 star guide! We laughed from start to finish. I’d told my friend I’d booked a mini cab tour and when the car arrived everyone was stunned. We had photos taken in font of the car. Just the right kick-off before we changed into our glad rags for the evening celebration. We will be back. Nearby activities: Visit to the Cathedral was very interesting and exploring The Lanes is well worthwhile. The Ivy Restaurant has amazing decor; atmosphere and superb food. Hotel location is very central and all the sights are within a walking distance.
I visited The Maid's Head for afternoon tea recently, and was very impressed by the excellent service and vegetarian options. While I would have liked to have sat in the stunning outdoor courtyard, the room we were in was beautifully decorated. We asked for the vegetarian afternoon tea, and was impressed by the selection. When we initially called to book, we were told the the vegetarian menu contained fish ???, however the chef was able to accommodate our dietary needs with no problem. We had a selection of sandwiches, savory tarts, a sweet and savory scone, as well as cakes and pastries - fsr too much for us to finish, but delicious nonetheless. My only criticism would be that the two teas I wanted to try were currently unavailable, however there were plenty of other options on offer. The servers were incredibly friendly and helpful. I looked forward to trying their next seasonal menu, and hopefully sitting in their courtyard.
The Maids Head Hotel is a nice traditional hotel right in the centre of Norwich. The location cannot be beaten especially since they have a modest sized car park. There are EV chargers also but there is no guarantee that you'll get a plug in. Rooms are small. That's partly because it is a very old building which brings with it a number of small staircases, doorways and level changes that would probably make it less suitable to people with mobility issues. Strange to find our room had no heating other than extremely inefficient plug-in electric radiators. Staff were very friendly and helpful. But if you won't remove covid screens, you do need to speak up! Breakfast very nice. Checkout easy. Worth the price. If I were to make any suggestion, the lounge areas need better service as we would have easten and drunk more had we been asked...
