This was a brilliant station for both arrival and departure, taking the yellow and grey colour scheme of the metro out to above ground! Departure boards keep up to date, waiting rooms are nicely modernised and so is the station sign. The building itself is pretty, platforms are appropriately sized and cleanliness was enforced!
It's not the best train station around, but it doesn't necessarily have to be. To be fair, Maghull is a comparatively small area of Merseyside, so there's really no need for a gigantic glammed-up train station, when this one still serves it's purpose. I had an okay time/experience here.
Not very nice place to visit need painting very run down but loads of kids missing school to go to town trains like 30 - 70 minutes late
A wonderful "country" station in immaculate condition with magnificent floral display thanks to the station's own volunteer group which has its own small but suitably resplendent building adjacent to the station. Buses stop almost next to the platform and the ticket office even doubles as a convenience store! Friendly staff and mercifully short footbridge for the throngs of commuters who set off for work in Liverpool from here. Disabled access to southbound platform from ticket office via level crossing at one end of the station, so a bit further to go with steepish uphill ramp.
Good bus service connections This is an historic railway station opened on 2 April 1849 and is one of the original stations still operating The worlds first inter-city passenger line was from Liverpool to Manchester which started running September 1830 To see more interesting historical facts and photos of Liverpool's historic places please tap my local guide icon
Nice train station, not too busy in off-peak times. It has regular trains to Ormskirk and Liverpool Central. Step free access to both platforms via road entrances, although if you want to change platforms without leaving the station and entering again, you do have to climb some stairs
Maghull train station parking is huge but well used and hard to find a space around 11am
Can't fault it for a local station. Regular service. Shop & toilet. Good staff.
Like going back in time but in a good whimsical way.
Went to theses two gaffs in magull off station road lovely staff great scran
