Just got back from a week's stay in our caravan, great place to stay. We had a lovely sea view. Bus stop right outside campsite every 30 mins during the week. toilets lovely and clean , also showers nice and clean and warm. Although there isn't an enclosure to let your dogs off , there is a public bridle path round the corner which you can let your dogs off lovely walk across fields and through a wooded area. Pub lovely atmosphere very dog friendly , food is amazing but you need to book as our gets really busy. We will be booking again for next year and may stay for two weeks
We've just stayed here for four days, we had the most amazing time. We booked a campervan pitch with a sea view. We just had the most amazing, magical holiday. The facilities are great, the location is perfect, fires are permitted raised, a lovely community atmosphere, dog friendly, and very reasonable £20 a night. Can't recommend enough. Utterly perfect.
Stayed in June 2022. Lovely quiet campsite for relaxing. Toilets and shower block are heated and cleaned often. Pub is very friendly too. Will definately be visiting again.
Nice camp site, many pitchs have sea views and are fairly flat. The Stiddy pub is well worth a visit. Nice food, good atmosphere and friendly staff. Plus very child friendly. Very convenient for Sandsend beach. Less than 5 minutes drive.
Spent 5 days at Lythe mhome site in December 2022, which was very quiet and peaceful at that time of year. You would need torch at night, but there are automated lights around the site. The Stiddy pub just outside campsite but isnt open Mon/Tuesday when we were there. Does meals and dogs welcome. There is local gin distillery also in Lythe, so we purchased few bottles of different types - very welcoming in both pub and distillery. Local village store cum post office, which is handy. The X4 bus stop just by pub runs every half hour during the day, both directions and goes into Whitby bus station taking about 10 mins. Whitby has loads to see. Manager on site at all times. Extremely pleasant stay and will go back. Restrooms: Both male and female restrooms. Ladies had 3 showers and 6 toilet cubicles. Think three sinks, with hand cleansing and hand drier. Was also hairdryer in the ladies. Constant hot water and showers very good. I believe the men's area is similar. There is also washer/dryer area at back of washrooms. Dog-friendliness: Dogs were allowed on site and there were a number of dog walks within easy distance of the mhome site. Walk down steep hill to Sandsend for another dog walk on beach, but there are restrictions between may-september each year. Picnic area: There were couple picnic seating by the pitches which overlook in the distance the sea, but I guess they would be used by the people using those particular pitches.
Just finishing a great week at Lythe Campsite and its been an absolute pleasure. Its a lovely site with great views and all the facilities you will need. The local pub is fab and the village post office supplies some lovely fresh produce. The best bit of it all is Micky, the guy that runs it. He has been so helpful and is about as nicer bloke as you will ever meet. Well worth a stay here. Highly recommended.
I have only good things to say about this site. The views are wonderful, facilities exactly what you need, and The Stiddy the pub next door is fantastic! Thank you Micky for the easy booking, great communication and for making our party of 11 so very welcome. What a wonderful week!
Amazing views other than that terrible experience put tent and wind breaker up to be told by the owner that our windbreaker was taking to much room for other pitches for the 2 days we stayed no-one even used the pitch near us and at 4pm in the afternoon we had the radio very very low volume as our daughter is autistic and has learning disabilities she does not like loud noise but he told us to turn it down even more and im honestly not exaggerating we could not hear it. We also seen him asking other parents to tell there kids to be quiet while they where playing they where no bother at all just kids having a great time. We spoke to other parents and they said they had the same problem with him. 6.55am this morning a road roller pulled on the site and he starts it up and wakes the whole site up but we couldn't play music at an extremely low volume at 4pm and kids couldn't play games with there parents. This would be an amazing site with the facilities updated and a owner that enjoys his job. Safe to say we will never return and like wise for the people we spoke to
Can't fault this campsite, only small but of feedback is individual bins in the ladies cubicals. Some people maybe embarrassed to dispose of lady waste in front of people? Showers and toilet cubicles could be cleaner. But only worthy of knocking one star off as everything else was fab. Location, service and view... Spot on
The manager was very friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers were very clean and warm. Overall a great little site with beautiful views. The Stiddy pub also does an absolutely fantastic roast on a Sunday. I highly recommend it.
