Poor communication prior to visit- I’d asked to extend my stay by one night and contacted the proprietor twice to find out if this was possible but received no response. On arrival I asked about this- I received no apology just that he had not seen my email. Not really good enough when you’re running a business. I then received an email saying staying another night was not possible - which I presumed was not accurate. Fab location- so close to the town however the facilities were not brilliant given I was paying £25 for one person per night. Frequently no toilet paper, missing toilet seat and absolutely lethal glossy tiled floor in the showers. Nowhere to freeze blocks. For that price I’d expected an excellent service. But fantastic location. Would I stay again? If it was a couple staying for £25 then maybe but not as a solo guest. Pure extortion for one person.
really loved it here came for 3 nights with the family camping, only 5-10 min walk to town so really didn't have to take the car. mike was nice when we showed up, he told us where we was pitching up and where the toilets and water area was. toilets was nice and clean. the site was clean and lovely to be at. we will return in the future and be happy to come back once again
Ideal location for exploring beautiful Whitby. Very close to Abbey and town. Owner helpful, promptly replied to my emails when I wanted to arrive a day early. Showers and toilets very clean but nearly broke my neck on the slippy tiles. One automatic light broken which ruled one shower out of action for whole stay 4 days, resulting in queues. All in all a nice site but needs a bit of love to make it a great site.
Made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a guest. Site over filled and despite giving exact tent dimensions we were left unable to guy rope one side resulting in partial collapse. Shower blocks each had an issue from no pressure to lights not staying on for more than 2 seconds if you don't move and one had no loo seat. Left a night early after having to sleep in van. Disappointing as location is great.
Deposit taken by card, balance to be paid by cash, just a heads up. Caught us off guard. No dogs permitted. Functional 1 bed apartment, parking for 1 çar. Enter into bedroom- living room with double bed comfy but very creaky, and 2 2 seater sofas. Kitchen has sofa which pulls out into another bed not very comfy. Also in kitchen is the bathroom, which has a plastic folding door into a small wetroom, if you use the shower the toilet gets soaked, could do with a mop to dry floor so next person to loo doesn't get wet feet! Functional but a bit strange. Plenty of storage and everything you need for your break away at whitby. Literally 5 minute walk up the hill to the Abbey. Also deposit taken over phone by card, but outstanding balance to be paid cash.
We have stayed here several times and loved it. The owners are very polite and helpful. The site is lovely and clean. We can not wait to go back in the next few weeks
A lovely campsite just a short walk away from the centre of Whitby. The facilities are clean. All in all a rather pleasant experience
Went mid September. Perfect stay. Lots of space, quiet and easy access to the town and Abbey. Will stay again.
A great place to camp. Afew minutes walk from the harbour, and only 5/10mins walk from the centre.. Great for amenities, and always someone friendly about.. My daughter loves Rosie the goat....... We've been going seeing her for years Playground: It's a camp site... We make our own fun Restrooms: Clean Dog-friendliness: Pretty sure I've seen a dog but can't honestly say so. Bag it and bin it - I don't think it would be an issue unless untrained and lose Picnic area: Always a way to rig a bbq... Just remember to bag and bin any left overs or you'll be woke by the raiding seagulls at 4.30 on ward's noob mistakes always a giggle
Very bad experience. We came with our motorhome, owner firstly did not want to accommodate us, saying it was very busy. Then when seeing the campground is not full at all, we could stay. The price is very expensive, the services are very poor, dirty sanitary and no services for motorhomes. The owner suggested to empty the waste water manually. The only pro is the location, is is on walking distance from all the attractions.
